Camping Fun

Our daughter and son-in-law bought a trailer this weekend!

They had previously camped in a tent trailer (sometimes called a pop-up trailer in America),  and will sell that one now. The new trailer sleeps 6...room for the grandkids to take a friend along. Oh joy, the grandkids say!
DH and I are thrilled as we always worried about bears when they camped in the tent trailer. When we were younger and our girls were toddlers, we lived in the Kootenay area of BC. We camped there and even into South Western Alberta. There were black bears and Grizzly bears in that area. One weekend, we had a bear circle our campsite all night. DH had a huge campfire going and lit a long, thick branch and used it to get us into the jeep, where it was safer. We promptly upgraded to a regular trailer soon as we gt home.

We are sure glad they did the same!

They stopped by to show us the photos as they are having the dealership do some improvement before they pick it up.   I think it is a 21 or maybe 22 foot trailer and has a rear slide that holds a queen size bed, and twin bunk beds up at the front. The table and benches pop together to make a double bed for friends. They have a furnace, an air conditioner, and a bathroom now too...that sure makes camping much more comfortable...

I made this card for them. I had just picked up these trailer toppers a couple of days ago. That was very lucky as I did not know they were looking to upgrade.

What a wonderful card Maureen and so perfect for them, you must have had a subconscious premonition! We used to go camping in the Rockies when we were small. We had a small tent, the old type that if you touched it when it was raining it leaked! My Dad was always telling us not to leave food out because of the bears but one night my Mum left an opened tin of peaches out. In the middle of the night my Dad woke up and heard a lot of noise to find a bear snuffling around and just managed to get us all pulled away from the edges of the tent before the bear tramped on it! Happy days lol, makes you wonder how we ever survived childhood with no Health and Safety! Hugs Susan x

Congratulations to them on the new trailer! You sure scared me with your story about escaping the bears, Maureen! We had a tent trailer for years, but we never took it to bear country. Anyway, I think the hard surface trailers are way cuter and their's sounds like it has ALL the conveniences of a hotel! Cool! They are going to adore your sweet and perfect card!! Hugs, Darnell

A super card, I love the cute image. We used to camp in a tent when our kids were young, but I wouldn't fancy it if there were bears around.

It sounds like something even I could enjoy! I'm more of a 'luxury animal', but the last time I was in a trailer was back in the 80s. Things change:)
Super image for congratulating them on their new trailer and I like the tree detail.
