Another one bites the dust!

Had another gander in my UFO box and found a card that I had started to make a very long time ago. I was planning to use it for a card to tuck a wee bit of cash into.

I used up a VOS purse sticker as I thought it so suited the cash theme of my card. This purse sticker is about 15 years old. I think it came on a page of 5 or 6 stickers and the rest were used on layouts right away. This last sticker has been looking quite lonely in the drawer...it was good to get it used at last.

I feel like I am on a first name basis with my VOS supplies. Nothing like packing and unpacking them to remind you just what you have.  I am also quite pleased I managed to get another card out of the UFO jail! This one languished in there for quite some time as I had already glued on the DP, the green scalloped border, the  two silk flowers anchored with a flower brad (my NBUS item), and the sticker. I never got it finished as I lost the snippet of matching green card I had saved for the sentiment.

Today,  I got the bright idea to add a second green colour as a thin strip alongside the scalloped piece. I had just enough of the second colour to stamp the two sentiments. I fussy cut around the Best Wishes stamped image, and diecut the For You sentiment with a Spellbinders Scallop die.

The background paper has a sparkle and sheen on bits of the pattern...Hopefully this photo catches that sparkle. I don't  know the manufacturer anymore as this snippet was from my bits box

Still not one of my favourites, but a finished card never the less.

Hey, I just realized that I can add two used up flowers to my flower ticker! What a bonus!!! One down, 135 more to go...lol

In case you are wondering what NBUS items are, my friend Darnell has coined this word and has a challenge to go along with it. NBUS is Never Before Used Schtuff...now I know we all have some! Since my flower brad is my NBUS item, I will pop over to Darnell's blog with my entry.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

1. djkardkreations NBUS Challenge - mut use a NBUS item
2. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets

Hi Maureen,
oh what a great colour card.
Love those fab colours, and your great design.
As you say nothing like packing up your craft room, and unpacking to bring to light stash you may have forgotten about.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Oh, I love this colour combo! What a gorgeous card! You have some great UFO and VOS items! I found tons of stuff when I packed/unpacked my crafty stash - things I didn't even remember buying! My craft stuff was all over the place in my old house since I crafted in my dining room - I had things tucked away everywhere. Now all my stash is in my craftroom - yay!

What a pretty flower! The flower count cracks me up!!! I'm still shifting things around, trying to make my place look presentable. I'm always finding something "new and interesting" every time I do this.

Wow, 15year old stash! I'm not going to laugh, because that will be me in a good ten years or so (I haven't been making cards that long yet). Well good on you using your VOS and creating a beautiful card with it:)

I'm glad you finally found a use for that purse sticker so that it was no longer languishing all alone. I really like the combo of pink and green and the flower is very pretty.

Oh, my, Maureen, that card and its bits are way too pretty to have languished in your UFO box for so long! It looks so HAPPY to be finished and HAPPY that it will be given to someone and make THEM happy and now the circle is complete! Whoot! I love how you have layered this beauty with all the different elements!! Thank you so much for the lovely shoutout and for playing in my NBUS Challenge #4!! Hugs, Darnell
