Rolling Along

Thought I should give a wee update on the storms.  The hydro and internet have remained on since we were restored and the windy weather has died down a lot. The tree devastation is sad to view though. Some were uprooted by the winds and others snapped in half, midway up the trunk. The news have had experts saying that the lack of water from this summers drought weakened the trees root systems. That weakened root system then allowed the winds to uproot them so easily.

I am rolling along with my pledge to use up some more of my vast stock of flowers. I rummaged through my stamps looking for images that could be used to hold flowers. This Stampin' Up wagon called out to me and I have laden it with blooms just for fun!

I stamped the image in black Memento ink and coloured it with copics. I tried to chose a green for the wagon bed that would match the green Memory Box Debutante frame that I had on hand. I stamped and fussy cut the wagon, and perched it onto an embossed stars mats (from that recent scrapbook garage sale). Layered that onto the MB frame and then placed those layers onto a white weathered wood DP.

Filled the wagon with 6 kraft printed flowers and tucked in a few Martha Stewart branches. Thought it still looked a little bare so added a bow and a butterfly from some other coordinating  embellishments.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets (the stamped image and the green Memory Box diecut were made from snippets)

Really lovely! Those flowers are gorgeous and look great in the cart.
I'm glad to hear you are recovering from the storms. Don't be too sad about those fallen trees, if they are in a place where they can remain fallen. There was a massive storm in the UK in 1987 and what we thought was a tragedy with so many fallen trees turned out to be a great boost for wildlife, as the fallen trunks provided great habitat for all kinds of plants, animals, birds and insects. So rather than destroying the ecosystem, the storm just changed it.

Such a pretty card, a sweet image and lovely soft colours.
I'm glad to hear that the storms have abated, it's always sad to see the devastation that they cause.
Take care.

Beautiful little wagon filled with all these lovely flowers and sprigs. Very clever way to use up your stash. The flowers added so much dimension to the stamped image, and love the addition of the MS twigs. Made a very pretty bouquet. Glad you're ok with the storms too. So scary. TFS & Hugs

I really like these flowers and their brown and kraft color scheme, I've got some similar ones... A great design idea for a card including flowers, where they've been made part of the main image rather than acting as embellishments.
