WOYWW 181 - Same Desk; New Mess

Same Desk...new mess!

I am still a mess of Christmas bit s and bobs...but it is a new mess as I got sick of those other design papers so I pulled out some new ones!
I have all sorts of Xmas bits stored in all the containers I have out on my desk. Embellishments, stamped sentiments, snowflakes, bits of cards I have started and set aside over the years, fun pieces that I have pulled off old cards in the past,  etc. Yep, it is all there is a big messy heap. It is a little more organized than last week ,so I can actually manage to create a card here by pushing stuff over to the sides after I finish a card. As you can see, I am working on one right now. I am a bit stumped as I think that delicate aqua snowflake  border die is pretty with the Penny Black stickaroo ornament but I think the MERRY AND BRIGHT is too big and heavy in size to work with it.

Before you all say, what PB stickaroo???... the green ornament was from a PB stickaroo rectangle that got kind of dented in the Xmas snippet drawer. That drawer barely closes...my goal by the end of Xmas is to be able to slide that drawer open and shut without wrecking the contents at the top of the pile. I hate dented paper or stickers so I carefully trimmed away the white rectangle and kept the unblemished ornament in all its glory. I was trying to get a pretty contrast with the green and aqua...think I will ditch the MERRY AND BRIGHT and add a stamped sentiment directly on the card instead. I will have to hold my breath when I do it as I always manage to stamp crooked or have one tiny edge stamp lighter than the rest.

In case you are wondering why I am rambling on about my desk mess, check in at Julia"s wonderful blog Stamping ground and check out what all the other creative souls have on their desks this week. Make sure to leave her some bloggy hugs while you are there.

Oh Christmas cards - I really need the incentive to make some MORE - need another 30 or so! OUCH! Love all your bits and bobs and how you store them. So how many have you made so far? BJ#5

Happy WOYWW. Fab Xmassy pile going on there. I have a Xmas stash box, which only just about contains all of its contents! I am dreading carrying it back upstairs to where it usually lives under our bed (and in fact it may not even fit under the bed now, as it is quite a bit taller). I might leave it on the floor of my craft room, slightly in the way of the corner where I keep my boxes of ribbons etc, as 1. we will be moving to the farmhouse next year and 2. I am strangely contemplating making Xmas cards all year round !!! Know how you feel about drawer contents. When I close one of my drawers, I hear that horrible scrunching noise, which means that something is being crumpled up at the back. Will be brave and investigate one day. Ali x #19

Good luck with getting your Christmas drawer back into commission! I rather like the big, bright Merry And Bright against the aqua and green, but look forward to seeing how it mutates as you create. Happy WOYWW!

I so envy your organization and all those many feet of counter space! I started organizing my holiday bits in Iris cases..Christmas is now 3 cases and assorted other bins! I do the same with paper...work with one or two lines until I need a change and then go on! Sandi #105

Looks a very tidy desk to me with lots of storage ideas. Christmas cards are a bit of a chore sometimes I wonder why we do it. Have just a few special ones to make now so will keep going a bit long and promise myself I will start in January next year.

I am really admiring of your desk, and the line up of organisation and whatever you say, it looks pretty tidy to me..the story about the drawer getting ram full is familiar, do let us know if you reach the 'easy glide' target at Christmas!

Well it's not just mess, it's 49 shades of mess! (Can't say 50 shades or you might think I'm referring to something else) Some great stuff there and you are producing lots of makes so it's fine. The other saving grace is how neat that line up of jars is at the back!
Love Jo x

What a lovely set of jars you have at the back. And you have a carousel like I have - do you like it or do you find like I do that it needs a lot of space to be able to turn? Still like it though.
Thanks for sharing your desk and must tell you that what was on my desk is certainly not exciting - more practical than anything. (revealed Friday evening)
Hugs and Thanks for visiting me, Neet 47 (one day I will be early instead of playing catch up) x

I love all the jars in the background. They look like jars in my local sweet shop, but a lot smaller! I hope you fix your card dilemma! x
