Not More Seashells!

Yes, I know this is very similar to my other seashell card...but there are a few differences. Instead of pencil crayons and gamsol,  this time I water coloured the sea and sand on some 140 lb watercolour paper. It dried nice and flat...I count myself lucky! Added some of those stamped, coloured and fussy cut sea shells, popping forward the conch and the starfish for some depth.

My card base was white and looked too stark with the cream watercolour paper so I covered it with Creative Impressions Sonnet Sea Side DP. Somehow I managed to rumple one edge so I distressed the edges with the blade of my scissors, and inked them with Ingvild Bolme Prima Chalk Ink, Black Coal. That looked a little too dark so I inked over it with her white chalk ink...that toned it down!

Mounted my watercolour topper and thought I was done, until I opened the card and managed to get some ink on the inside. Drat!  Cut a bit more of the Sea Side DP and used it to hide my inky mistake.
I will stamp a sentiment here, once I decide what this card will be used for!

I don't like this one as much as the previous seashell card I did with pencil crayons and gamsol...but hopefully whoever I send it to will enjoy it!

Rolling Along

Thought I should give a wee update on the storms.  The hydro and internet have remained on since we were restored and the windy weather has died down a lot. The tree devastation is sad to view though. Some were uprooted by the winds and others snapped in half, midway up the trunk. The news have had experts saying that the lack of water from this summers drought weakened the trees root systems. That weakened root system then allowed the winds to uproot them so easily.

I am rolling along with my pledge to use up some more of my vast stock of flowers. I rummaged through my stamps looking for images that could be used to hold flowers. This Stampin' Up wagon called out to me and I have laden it with blooms just for fun!

I stamped the image in black Memento ink and coloured it with copics. I tried to chose a green for the wagon bed that would match the green Memory Box Debutante frame that I had on hand. I stamped and fussy cut the wagon, and perched it onto an embossed stars mats (from that recent scrapbook garage sale). Layered that onto the MB frame and then placed those layers onto a white weathered wood DP.

Filled the wagon with 6 kraft printed flowers and tucked in a few Martha Stewart branches. Thought it still looked a little bare so added a bow and a butterfly from some other coordinating  embellishments.
