Christmas Card Club - Angels (Stash Card 34)

It is my turn to host the fortnightly theme for the Christmas Card Club. I chose Angels and had a specific angel stamp in mind. It is specific all right...it is my only angel stamp!
It has never seen ink and I had grand ideas to heat emboss it in silver  on a navy blue sky.

Well, I have searched high and low and can not find it. I have the stamp package and all the other stamps are there, but the angel is missing.  Sadly, I believe I have loaned it out and of course have forgotten who I loaned it too.

In my search, I did manage to find this lovely angel, up cycled from an old Xmas card.  I decided to use it as it is already what I had in mind... An angel in the night sky! The card had some lovely gold metallic embossed patterns on it so it looks quite sparkly.

I have matted in pearlescent purple as I have a couple of friends who love that colour. I added a Memory Box snowflake border from a snippet of the purple card, and added a few gold pearls to finish it off.  I had a few teensy snippets leftover and cut Believe from my Tattered Lace die. It fit quite nicely on my angels robe and serves as my sentiment. I added a bit of gold fine cord just below the matted image, to tie in the metallic finish on the paper.

Recipe
Card base - cut from my stash
Card stock -snippet of purple pearlescent card
DP - Authentique, Glistening;  from my stash
Cord -fine gold metallic cord from my stash
Dies - Memory Box snowflake border; Tattered Lace die words phrases (Believe)
Image -up cycled from an old Xmas card

I am entering this card in the following challenges

1. Pixies Crafty Workplace - must use snippets
2. Christmas Card Club  - use theme of Angels

Now I see why you talked about two angels flying around homeless! My mum would have said "What are you like!!" It gave me a real giggle though! Your recycled/upcycled angel is beautiful though. The blue and gold looks gorgeous. Have a great day! Hugs Christine xx

Hope you find/locate your stamp soon, or maybe it will jog someone's memory, when they read this post, that they borrowed it. A lovely card using recycled image, what a great idea.

Mo, thanks so much for selecting angels as the theme this time. Angels are some of my fav things - stamps & otherwise! Right up there with cardinals. Thanks too for the snowflake idea to cover up the boo-boo. Might work! I love what you did with the upcycle. It is a beautifully rich image, and I liked very much all the wonderful embellishment additions you added with the border and the sentiment word die. Well done with such a pretty card. TFS & Hugs

You've made so many beautiful cards while I was away on holiday, but this card really stood out to me. I hope you find your angel stamp, but this card wouldn't have happened had you found it, so a bit of luck there I'd say! Your upcycled angel looks brilliant, I love this color scheme of gold and blue, so elegant!

Fabulous upcycling Mo and I am sure you were meant to use that image - it's perfect for the theme and gorgeous too - result!
Apologies for my lateness and for the fact that I have no angel - I did the best I could and I hope that's okay Karen xx

Oh dear! I hate that when stamps go missing. It is rare I remember who I lent them to so I can relate. Hopefully your angel will resurface at some point when whoever you lent it to digs it out for holiday cards. The card you came up with instead is totally cool! It has an elegant but whimsical feel to it, totally fun!
