Hanging By A Thread

It is the lovely Clare's turn to chose our latest Christmas Card Club theme. Clare chose pastel colours and to use a circle on your card.
As soon as I read the brief, I knew which design paper I wanted to use. I coloured the image to match with it! The upper DP is a soft, dull sheen metallic paper with heavily flocked intricate circles...perfect for Clare's theme! I coloured the ornament in pale aqua...managing to use the last smidgeon of ink in the pen...wonder if that counts as a snippet?
Of course the sweet little mouse and bauble had to be cut in a circle too...couldn't have it any other way! The MB corner snowflake swirls and the sentiment were cut and stored away last year. They were from the last snippets of this shimmery aqua textured cardstock. I love this shade and I'm on the lookout for more of it...has to be shimmery though!

This one is for overseas so I used a new type of bling I found...a bit larger in diameter than my usual, but they are very thin, so the post rate should not be anything extra. Even the bling on the diecut image are the teensy size...so hopefully they are "safe" as well! I even used narrower pop dots on this card...this card is sure to make it through the slot!

Once I was finished, I felt that something was missing so I pulled out a K and Co 3d snowflake from last year. I pulled it apart and reassembled it with slimmer popdots and some smaller bling. Once I got it added, I knew this card was finally finished.

Recipe:
Scalloped card and envelope - blog candy win from Sassy Raggedy @ http://www.sassyraggedy.com/
DP - snippets of MME Merry (blue words)  and Heidi Grace, Christmas ShimmerFlocked Dots
Cardstock - snippet of pink for the background and snippets of aqua for the corner dies
Dies - Memory Box Snowflake corner die; Spellbinders petite circle and petite scalloped circle
Stamps - this was stamped at a stamping class at my local scrapbook shop...I did not record the stamp names, sorry
Embellishments - K and Co snowflake
Bling - Dollarama

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
2. Sister Act Challenge - Always Anything Goes
3. CHNC Extra - Always Anything Goes...must be Christmas
4. MFP - Speedy TV Christmas Card Challenge - must be Christmas
5. Christmas Card Club - pastel colours and a circle...must be Christmas

Fabulous card Maureen.Your aqua snowflake corners look so pretty. I bought this stamp a few years ago and have never used it it. When I saw it I thought it was the same as mine so I checked it out - yep, it sure is. All it says on the wood block is "Good Impressions, Centralia, WA". Doesn't mean anything to me except it's a sweet stamp! Anyway after all that waffling (I've been taking lessons from my friend Sue P! Lol!) I'll just reiterate that I love your card! Love from Christine xx

This is gorgeous...love your mousie image on the ornament. You really matched to your pretty papers. Neat idea on slimming down the dimension & bling. That sure costs a lot when mailing. Here even if it goes through the slot,if it has to be 'hand done', not machine processed, it costs extra. I'm trying to be conscious of that! Loved your MB corners too. We are just MB Junkies, aren't we???Lovely card & TFS

Hi Mo, this is so sweet. I have this little mouse image which I bought some years ago and it has never seen ink! For shame! I love your soft colours. I'm not sure what is going on but my comment from yesterday disappeared - as did a few others i made. Let's hope this is okay!! Love from Christine xx

Fabulous Christmas card, sweet image and fabulous choice of colours and papers.
Thanks for your comment on my card and I have taken your advice and decorated the inside of the card (although not too much) and the sentiment too. Why didn't I think of that?

What a lovely card! It feels very Christmasy in spite of the non-traditional colors, which are actually a great choice for this design full of beautiful die cuts!
