WOYWW 208 The Four Year Anniversary Special

It is a really exciting day...the fourth Anniversary of Julia's brainchild...What's On Your Workplace
Every Wednesday for the past four years, scores of bloggers  visit the crafty goodness that lies on worktops around the globe. Today is even more fun as we have a ATC swap going on.. Names marked with an asterisk are sending to the next person after them that indicates an asterisk. Some bloggers, me included have done a few extra and will provide details on how to arrange a swap with them.
You can join in the fun and see what all the fuss is about by popping over to Julia's  Stamping Ground.

Well, my desk is a little muddled at the moment. I make cards with my next door neighbour every Wednesday evening... so I've already cleaned my long worktop where we work together. We will do a card kit that we takes turns assembling and bringing for each other. It is her turn tonight so fun, fun, fun!

In the interim I am working on assembling the last of my ATC's on the extra desk I keep if our 3rd friend pops by. Although I am keeping my finished ATC design hidden,  you can see I have the backings laid out on the desk for some extras I am making of another style

The bits and pieces are hidden off to the right hand side and are laid out on a grid, all ready to assemble. I am just in the process of stamping my inspirational word and then embossing these backgrounds...hopefully that straightens them out!!!
They are my first try ever with Tim Holtz stains and with sprays...I think I muddled the colours a bit but as they are supposed to have a look of the sea...I think it will be OK. Just off to the left is my Big Shot with the basket of EF just out of camera view.

Behind the Big Shot is a basket of thrift shop lace and ribbon I featured here about 6 weeks ago. It is still not ironed and put away...instead I threw it all askew into a pretty basket and I'm pretending it is supposed to look that way! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The ribbon rolls at the far back are for some mermaid/sea themed cards I hope to start on tomorrow. I have the images all coloured and hope to make 6 or 8 cards over the next couple of days.

To the right are few little plastic boxes that need put away, a vase of odds and ends that need put away and ....well, you can see the theme going on over here on the right! This is usually my Christmas station...only baskets, drawers, boxes etcaof Christmas themed elements are supposed to be over here...Well...sigh...I guess that is in a perfect world...teehee

So now you have seen my desk...warts and all...full of items that need corraled and put back in their place but hey, ho...what's a girl to do when she's busy creating!!!

I have four extra ATC's to trade...for address details etc, you can reach me at:
scrappymo1@gmail.com
Yes, that is a figure one after my moniker!

I'm loving the tour of your desk! You've tickled my funny bone, girl!
Those who receive your cards will be blessed indeed. I'd offer to trade, but I may be in over my head already. My hubby would like me to emerge from my art room now and then and exchange a few pleasantries! :D Silly guy!
Have a wonderful week peeking at desks!
Happy WOYWW4,

Thanks for visiting!

What a nice big work space. How fun you and your neighbor can get together each week. I like the basket of ribbon and I think it belongs just like that :) Hope you are having a wonderful WOYWW 4th Anniversary Day! Rasz #164

Ironing ribbon unless I am desperate and it is so wrinkled and I can't hide the wrinkled bit will I iron the blessed stuff but believe me I hate ironing full stop. It sounds like you have so much to put away but I doesn't look like it from here, your studio looks really meet and tidy. I will be interested in seeing your finished ATC once the recipients have theirs. Thanks for visiting me earlier.

Love that view of your workspace - and it looks so tidy too! Would not dare show you mine at the moment. Thanks for visiting and well done on the plant sale too. Hugs, Anne x #61

Hope you had a fantastic night last night Mo, the desk certainly looks ready for action anyway. Thanks so much for all your lovely comments over the last week, sorry I haven't popped in for a while to return the favour. Love how you redid your garden, it looks absolutely beautiful, can't believe you got that many plants from it for the plant sale, amazing!

Love how organised and clear your desk is! (If it becomes unrecognisably messy in what seems like minutes, check I haven't broken in and I'm not hiding under the desk LOL). I love the colours you've chosen for your ATCs too!! Happy WOYWW4! Hugs Sand xxx (#172)

Making ATCs with friends sounds like a lot of fun and you have such a neat and tidy work station with so much storage! Happy WOYWW4 Anniversary! Annette #2

Oh my, now I have cost you money!! LOL Who makes the holder thingy? I would be interested in that! I have a stamp for the backs of ATCs but when I looked for it, it has gone walkabout... nowhere to be found!!
Pssst... my holders are the easiest peasiest things to make... I use doublesided patterned papers 12 x 12 and get 6 from one!! Cut the 12 x 12 up the middle to give 2 pieces 6 x 12. Put ATC in centre and fold each side into the middle. Run a length of double sided tape up the 12 inch length and then cut into three equal pieces. Use my circle punch to snip a little half circle out of the top, staple the bottom... voila! ;)
hugs from Annette

You are lucky to have a friend to craft with. However, I feel as though I have hundreds of craft friends through this wonderful blog community, who are all so supportive. My resolution is to only knuckle down to the dreaded paperwork this week and give myself permission to craft after that. Enjoy the rest of the celebrations. xx Maggie #43

I laughed at your 'Artful Basket of Lacy Bits'!!! What a fab way of getting around having to sort out bits and pieces....it's so Vintage ;-). Of course, I never have to do anything like that... My desk is always tidy.....*cough* .......!!
I love the colours that you've used for your ATCs by the way, that tealy bluey greeny is my favourite... I think it's because I was brought up by the sea!

Woah! I'm really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It's simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it's hard to get that "perfect balance" between usability and visual appeal. I must say you have done a very good job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super fast for me on Safari. Excellent Blog!

I must have missed the 'warts and all', cause this looks very tidy to me. Your lace in the basket looks very creative, and I may wash stuff I find at a flea market (if I can), but iron...nah! When we retired, the iron got retired too. Only used for weddings/funerals is our story. Can't wait to see your ATC's. Wouldn't have a clue as to how to do this! Looking forward to it. And I want to see your sprays results too!Bet they turned out super. TFS

Happy 4th ....Thank you for dropping by ...I managed about 60 in some sort of order then I dotted around to see friends I didn't want to miss then I got completely lost !!! so ...I decided to give up ...but anyone who dropped by I would make sure I visited. It was easy back when there were 20 of us ...and then 50 ish ... but then it grew and grew and I think I have only reached the full list about twice.
Your space looks so ordered and I envy you your nextdoor neighbour to share your passion with ...I'd love that. xx

I’m sorry to be late in visiting but I’m now on day four of my quest to get round everyone this week. I know it’s going to take some time, but I wanted to say that it’s amazing that the internet can bring together so many likeminded people and I’m grateful that WOYWW has also brought along so many new friends, thanks to Julia.

A nice tidy desk this week, but still lots going on by the sounds of things.

Enjoy your weekly snoop, especially as we’re celebrating WOYWW’s 4th Anniversary
Happy Crafting!

your desk is looking good, I wish i would have one like this where I am just now.... in holidays.... I feel bad when I cannot work or create. But I will do my best on my lap, or at the coffee table, or outside in the wind, because we are at the sea, I will have to run after my threads.....

Hi Maureen, belated happy WOYWW4 - I'm still making my way through the links hoping to visit everyone! Your desk looks very neat and purposeful and the basket of lace looks ready to delve into. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my latest Christmas card - the one with the digi. You mentioned that when you colour digi's you get smudging from your printer ink. This does happen if you try to colour immediately. I leave mine at least 24 hours, often much longer, before I try to colour but you can speed this part of the process by drying with a heat gun. There's a brilliant tutorial on this very subject on Beccy's blog - here's the link:

http://beccysplace.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/technique-class-colouring-digital.html

I think you will find it an interesting read and, hopefully, helpful.

Hugs,
