Back from the lake with some cards

Finally back from the lake.
The rain ended and we had a few days of 34C weather.  If you read my last post you know what that means...
Boating Weather!!!
When my husband has friends come up to stay, they set off  for the day golfing or fishing in the boat, weather permitting.  Soon as they leave, I camp out in the gazebo and try to create some cards.

I didn't have many card supplies up with me this time, as I was a bit stretched for space. We were expecting non-stop company, so I needed the "bunkie" set up for company every day.  I mainly brought supplies for what I call "cheater cards". Cheater cards are made with purchased card backs, handmade or purchased embellishments and stamping is usually limited to a sentiment. I raided my stash and brought one bin of embellies, a few bling jewels, some border strips and a couple pieces of ribbon. I scored a few bits of embroidery cotton and some vintagey buttons at the resort garage sale so that was all I had to work with. I forgot to bring my paper slicer so I couldn't even cut up some of the different coloured card fronts to use as contrast bits.

I'll post a card a day over the next few of days...That will give me something to blog about as I tackle the mountain of laundry I brought home. We do have full laundry facilities there, but I would rather be crafting than sitting in a laundry room on my holidays!  My scrap room is right beside my laundry room at home, so hopefully I will get them all posted, one by one, as I wait for the wash cycles to finish.

This first card is on a shimmery, ivory, card base. This is the first time I have used this type of base and once I use these all up, I won't purchase them again. They are a bit lightweight for my liking. I like a sturdy card! I think they were 7 bucks for 40 cards and envelopes so I got carried away and decided to give them a try. My bad!

This card will go in my stash pile and be pulled back out to give to a gardening friend, on the right occasion.

daisy embellishments - K and Company
butterfly - K and Company
word phrase - K and Company
Yellow sparkly adhesive ribbon - Walmart

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

The glittery, self adhesive ribbon is yellow, the flower cluster has yellow flowers in it,  and there are 2  yellow daisies.

Hi ya, looks like a really pretty card to me - know what you mean about flimsy card bases. I only buy from one particular shop or make my own, that way I know what I'm getting.

Thanks for the comments on my paper bouquet, seems the general consensus is for three blooms and I think I will go with that and will post pictures when I re-make it.

Sarah

PS - Looks like you have wonderful holidays, the view (picture with the boat in the foreground) is just gorgeous!
