Sorry for the delay with the Rudolph Challenge this month. I had a hospital appointment for a cortisteroid injection to my left shoulder on Monday. I have had this done every 18 months or so for several years. Usually, I am tender for 3-4 days and then around day 7 the steroid kicks in and significantly reduces the pain in my damaged rotator cuffs. I have always had them done through the frontish side of my shoulders and also through the back. This specialist only goes through the front of the shoulder, just above the breast and right where your bra strap connects. Even though he used the dye based method for the positioning, I have scar tissue from the shoulder injury and he could not get the correct position of the needle. He had to keep reinserting and trying over and over. As they go in till they bump the bone, it was quite painful. He appologized and said he was sorry to leave me bruised. My goodness, it is so very much more painful than the side and back method...I just could not sit to finish off the challenge post as I felt like I could not get my breath if I sat upright, and could not comfortably lift my arms to type. That will teach me to leave things to the last minute!
Our designers have been busy creating inspiration for you. First up is Sam at Whispers Cards blog
Sam has made us two lovely cards. First up is this beautiful belly band card. I love this style...hopefully Sam inspires us to give this design a try too! The traditional colours look great here. Gosh, that poinsettia is so very pretty. Hope you follow the hyperlink and pop on over to Sam's and leave her some comments.
Sam's second card looks so fun. Those three penguins peeking thru the apertures catch my heart strings! Love this one Sam.
Marjeta at Marjeta's Creative Company blog has made us a lovely card too. The colouring is super and the colours are so vibrant. I am in a Christmassy mood now! Hope you will follow the hyperlink to her blog and leave her some lovely comments.
Our prize this month is this Cottage Cutz Snowy Gnome House die.

Oh dear, I feel for you, I don't think I remained to see if the doctor could do it brr. I have nerve blocks for the pain stays good for 3 months they do it with X-ray. I hope you recover soon and are pain free for a while. Great inspiration cards, take care.
Sorry to hear that you've had a tough time with your recent injection Maureen, it sounds like a very unpleasant experience. Hope you recover soon.
Beautiful Christmas cards from your DT. xx
Oh my goodness that injection sounds dreadful. Hope it’s feeling better now. Playing just for fun!

Hi scrappymo - I've just sent you an email message to say I had a 'senior moment' when linking my card and put the link to your blog and not mine! Will you please delete entry number three.
Thank you, Kath x
Sorry you are having such a tough time. My last injection was two years ago and it was completley painless and has lasted well, but I am seriously in need of another one now. And the state of the health service right now means I may well have a long wait, so I am a bit of a one-armer at the minute. But fortunately my crds were made well in advance this month. Love the cards made by the design team. I am only playing for fun as usual. Kate x
I'm so sorry you've been dealing with such a difficult issue with your shoulder. I hope all the injections are worth it in the long run, but hopefully by now you're feeling somewhat better. Sending a friendly little hug your way for peace and comfort in the coming days. Happy Rudolph day (I'm playing just for fun this time)
Oh Maureen, I'm so very sorry to hear about all the pain you had to cope!! Hope that now things go better for your shoulder and that next time you need an injection will be so far and could be done by the back!!
Sending hugs and my best wishes for better days ahead!
Forgot to say fabulous cards from the Dt, so inspiring as always!

I'm so sorry to hear. I hope you are feeling better every day.
Gosh that sounds so awfully painful, I do hope it gets better soon. You’ve been a star carrying on through the pain, I’m sure we all appreciate you. It’s a very cute prize, and the team designs are gorgeous. Happy Rudolph day and take care xxx
Sorry to hear you had to go through that!
Feel better soon!
Oh how awful, Maureen! Sure hope it works after all that trauma. I've had shots about every 6 months going in from the back. My problem is arthritis. The results have been great until late last year. Now I'm left with needing a shoulder replacement which is not going to be fun, but I can't live with this much pain. At least my hip replacement was a breeze & I no longer limp--yay! The DT cards are fabulous!
Beautiful inspiration cards from Sam and Marjeta!
I hope you are on the mend after your experience. That sounds so painful.
Sending gentle hugs x
Thanks for the inspiration!

Lovely cards from the DT and I'm sorry you had to go through that and I hope it has eased off now. Thank you for the challenge x
So sorry to read this and hope you feel better soon. I did email you last month when I was the winner, but I understand if you have been busy. Great work from the DT.

Maureen, what a painful procedure! I am so sorry you went through that experience. I've had both hips replaced and several other surgeries, but none were as painful as the one cortisone shot I had about 12 years ago. I almost passed out on the table. So I really hope the docs will use the less painful methods in the future! Feel better soon!
Happy Rudolf Days everyone. Hope you feel better soon Maureen. I do look forward to this challenge and it really helps to build the Christmas card pile so thanks for continuing to inspire us in the face of your own challenges. HUGZ
Hi Maureen,
so sorry to hear about your shoulder that injection sounds horrendously painful.
I do hope you are now out of pain or feeling less pain.
My Granddaughter's husband fainted when they gave him one and he is a rugby player and used to knocks and pain.
Wonderful cards made by the DT this month.
I will be visiting them after this to show them some love.
I have my DT cards made already for next month.
Lots of crafty love and gentle hugs. Jenny L.
