August Rudolph Days Challenge

Sadly, I need to cancel the Rudolph Challenge this month.

We are all quite ill here with cough, sniffles, headache and extreme tiredness. Everyone in my family has either had it or has it now. First my daughter, son-in-law, and the grandkids, then Al and now me. Sadly, I just have not had the energy to get the post typed.

It has not helped at all that I had a fall onto my elbow and I am not able to get to the doctor and get an xray untill 10 days after the symptoms have passed. Although I can bend it slightly, I can not straighten it fully nor rest it to get some sleep, without a nest of pillows around it. I suspect I have cracked it.

Sorry to disappoint you all. I am off back to bed!

Crafty hugs

Hi Maureen,
so sorry to hear you are all unwell I do so hope you all get better soon.
My Son has just had a very nasty cold too so there must be a lot of bugs floating around the atmosphere.
Oh my that fall sounds really nasty and having to wait all that time for an Xray.
Sounds just like what is happening over here in the UK.
I could only get a telephone consultation about my left hip that is giving me so much jib at the moment.
I do so hope you will be soon pain free.
Lots of crafty love and gentle hugs. Jenny L.
PS will keep my cards for my DT next month hopefully all ill be okay then.

Oh dear Mo, so sorry to hear about this and hope that you and the family will soon be feeling a lot better from what ails you all, and hope the pain in your elbow will at least lessen in the next few days. Such a nuisance that you have to wait until the illness has passed before getting it looked at. x

Oh Maureen, I'm so sorry your whole family is ill and now you have hurt yourself. Falls are never fun and I'm thinking too you have probably fractured the elbow. My sister did that years ago when we were ice skating on the pond, she was put in a sling. I sure hope your symptoms get better and you can get to the doctor to have it x-rayed. I fracture my knee and have been laid up for 8 weeks, just got released yesterday and now I'm trying to strengthen my leg. So I kinda' know what you are going through with the elbow. It was hard sleeping in a leg brace that went the whole length of my leg, so it was recliner sleeping. Keep those pillows pilled up and try and keep comfortable! Keeping you all in my prayers! Big hugs, Brenda

Oh, Mo! Bless your heart. I hope you and your family will feel better sooner rather than later. Especially to get to the doctor's office. I'll be praying for you. I really will. Send me your address via my gmail and I'll send you a card to either cheer you up or make you want to kick someone. Your choice of course. [Bunny]

I am sleeping in the recliner too and already put my arm in a sling as I knew that rarely do more than that.
I have cracked something there once before and it feels similar. I can twist my arm from palm down to palm up, which is a good sign it is not major. I just can not bear weight ion it to rise from a chair nor can I “Lock it) straight.

Hope you heal well too. Just one hand finger typing this response! Hahaha

I could go to hospital but do not want to give this to anyone else in case it is covid.
We all have been double vaccinated so since DH and I are retired, I will just stay home the ten days.

They rarely do more than put you in a sling for a cracked elbow and I already have one! If it was a broken leg or something, then I would phone the Dr for advice…

Oh my goodness Maureen, that sounds just terrible. Your health, and the health of your family is much more important than the challenge, so I hope you begin to heal and feel better soon. I know that you've had even more to handle than this latest setback so please know that we're all sending wishes for improvement, and hugs to you all.
