Peace On Earth
Do you ever fel a wee bit behind the 8 ball?
Dec 1st arrived and I was faced with the looming Canada Post deadline to mail off my overseas christmas cards. At this late date I realized that once I sent the overseas cards off, I did not have enough cards left to send locally to my family and friends. I cast my mind over my on hand supplies and tried to chose a design that would make up easily into multiples.
I wanted to make a dozen in total, so I chose a prefolded set of silver glimmer cards that I bought a couple of years ago. I think they were only 5x5 inches so my choice of stamp was limited by size requirements. Luckily I already had 6 stamped images of this Nativity scene ornament, so I quickly stamped 6 more and then cut them with a Lawn Fawn Stitched circle die.
I painted the blue background with twinkling H2O's, and used a Silver Gelly roll pen over the bauble fastener at the top. I had some sheets of Silver fine glitter paper from one of the papercrafts garage sales I attended last summer, and cut them with a Spellbinders scalloped circle die.
I am upstairs at the moment, and the sentiment stamp is down two flights of stairs in my craft room...sorry I do not remember the manufacturer...
After I took this photo, I decided that the card looked rather plain, so I took the silver Gelly Roll pen and carefully went over all the scrollwork around the nativity scene! It went surprisingly fast and I wish I had remembered to retake the photo.

What a nightmare for you to realise at the last minute that you were short of Christmas cards! You came up with a beautiful design with this one and I love the Nativity scene ornament stamp. xx
A gorgeous card Maureen, I love the base card you've used it has such a nice look to it and the glitter card you've used for the matting too. The sentiment goes perfectly with the wonderful image.

We do make it hard on ourselves don't we? These cards are beautiful though, I like the subtle colours and little bit of glitter. It's a lovely bauble image. Make sure you start now for next year. ;-)
It's gorgeous...very elegant x
Wonderful card. Love the image.

You ended up designing a beautiful card that looks elegant but could be done easily in bulk. Well done.

Hi Maureen,
what a very wonderful card, and I love that wonderful bauble it's so gorgeous.
Super design also.
Love and big hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Lovely card Maureen and I don't blame you for not going down to see the make of the sentiment stamp. I also think this looks great without the added silver.

Oooo what a delightful traditional card and i'm loving all the sparkle too, Luv Sam x
What a beautiful stamp Maureen, I love it when a plan comes together, making a production line for multiple cards gets them make so much quicker and these are gorgeous.

Love this card Maureen- the blue on the gold is very effective.
Beautifully elegant card, Maureen! Hard to believe these were your minute ones!
Wow what a stunning design.
Hugs Diane
It's okay, Maureen. You know how photos never seem to capture the shimmer well, anyway, so we will use our very evolved imaginations to picture all that scrollwork glistening from the Gelly Roll pen! It's a really beautiful, shiny, and serene Christmas card!! Hugs, Darnell
Gorgeous card, Mo. I love quick makes like this for Christmas.
Hugs,

I love your gorgeous card. Very elegant with the gold. I should start making cards right at the beginning of the year but usually hold off until mid July or August. Maybe this year I can get off to a faster start.
Lovely classy looking design. I'm glad I wasn't the one making 12 of them though. Hugs Mrs A .
I'm always behind the 8 ball Maureen, as you can see! I swear I don't know when it started, but once it did I just never got back on top of things. Your card is stunning. I love that image, so pretty. This one is a winner for sure! Hugs, Brenda
I don't think this looks plain at all, but I reccon the silver gel roll pen did nothing but wonders still:) seems like we had similar experiences last Christmas. I'm planning to make sure I have 70+ cards come December to avoid that this year.
amazing card with great design, I love the sparkling!
I had the same problem last December and I was making last minute Christmas cards again.
hugs xx
