Stormy Weather

Just a quick message to my followers and to the Rudolph Days Challenge entries. I know I have been mostly silent with comments for the last couple of days. We have had a terrible storm here. It uprooted trees all over...at least 30 within a two block radius of me! Trees were down onto the telephone lines and broken lines everywhere. We had no power, phone, or internet for over two days, and intermittent power before that.

We lost everything in our freezer and in our fridge so had a bit of a job to clean all that out and dispose of it all...Ugggh! Luckily, it was garbage day today. We are early am pick up and good thing for that as there was talk that they may not make it round to all address today. So many people had bucked up their fallen trees and many good samaritans were seen lifting downed trees off highways and roads and dragging them off to the curbs. We are talking 15 - 20 foot trees and in some cases maybe 6 or 8 down at a time.

Just posting this now as there is another storm brewing and there is an advisory that the power may go out again. The power outage update lines at BC Hydro were so inundated with callers that the system crashed so it was very difficult to obtain info as to when our address would be reconnected.

Hopefully I will have power to post the Rudolph Days Winner on Sept 1st. Bear with me and I will post it as soon as I can!  I promise to get round to visit everyone as soon as possible. Thank goodness for my guest designer this month!

OMGoodness, so sorry to hear this! I'm glad you're okay. That's a shame about your food spoiling. And I know from experience how tough it is to be without electricity. Hope the upcoming storm is much tamer. I didn't realize you are in BC... I'm in NS. Take care and I hope you and yours will be safe.

Hi Maureen,
ooooooooo! this sounds awful for you.
I do hope your power remains on this time.
We too have had some thunder storms, but nothing as bad as yours, in our area that is.
Love and biggest hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Rudolph Day must be the last of your worries at the moment Mo, sounds like a dreadful storm. Seems the weather is all over worldwide, we even saw some pretty unusual ones in the Med this year.
