October Rudolph Day - Found Treasures - Cards 22, 23, 24 and 25

I have almost finished sorting out my craft room.  I am working on filling the last box of older supplies for the thrift shop. I think I have pared everything down enough to fit into the new room, which is about 3/4 the size of the one I have now.

I scrapbook 12x12 as well as 8x8,, so a zillion pieces of DP as well as cardstock in those sizes keeps my stash very full. I managed to donate all my 6x6 books and page protectors, but probably should do the same with the 8x8! That would free up a lot more space...but I sort of like working with that size...sigh...

One of the bonuses about going through stash to purge and then organize the rest, is that you find hidden treasures. Treasures you ferretted away in years past and then forgot about! I was delighted to find a 12x12 file pocket full of card kits that I made up a couple of years ago (or maybe even longer).

There were enough precut designs for three different card designs and several of each style. What fun that was to find!  Perfect for Rudolph Day which runs on Sarn's blog Stamping For Pleasure. You have from the 25 till the end of each month to make 2 Christmas cards, the same design or different designs, whatever you chose. Show them both on the same blogpost and link up to her challenge...easy peasy!

I made 4 cards this month, for Rudolph Days. It was easy as I had the design right there in that found treasure chest. I did vary the card bases though, as I am trying to use up the prescored and folded bases I have already made up.

I tried a cream, green and a brown card base,Which do you like best? I think my fave is the brown...have to do the inserts still, but should probably just use a simple white or cream insert.

Recipe
Card base - prescored and folded bases I made from stash a long, long time ago
Cardstock - Kraft, Bown. Red, Green and Cream card
Punches - Stampin' Up Curly Label punch; Stampin Up ornament punch and square punch as well
Stamps - Stampin' Up Delightful Decorations Ornament Stamp
Martha Stewart glue pen and
Stampin' Up iredescent glitter hilighting the swirls on the stamped image
EF - not sure the make but the burgundy card is a damask embossing folder and the brown square is i think, a Stampin' Up version of Swiss Dots.

I am entering these cards in the following challenges:

1. Stamping For Pleasure Oct  Rudolph Days - must be 2 or more Xmas cards
2. Pixies Crafty Workshop -must use snippets

I think the brown is my favorite, too, but they all are lovely! What a great find! Have to clean up the spare room (my craft storage room) before my sis & BIL come visit, so maybe I'll find some stuff I know is here somewhere--LOL!

Lovely cards AND Luma-lid! It's so satisfying to sort & rediscover stuff just when you need it which is why I managed so many cards this month!

If it is the brown one that is laying down then I'm going for the brown. really makes the rest of the card design pop. Hugs Mrs A.

Hi Maureen,
what super creations for Rudolf Day.
I love your fab designs, and what wonderful colour combinations.
Oh what a pity about your having to give all those things to the charity shop.
Still someone is going to be so pleased you have.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I really like the different colors of your cards. They make a nice variety of basically the same card. What great found treasures you have! I worry that getting very organized will stop that from happening, but so far that hasn't been the case. There is always some secret treasure to be found somewhere. Happy Rudolph Day!

Hi Mo . . . congrats on getting another 4 cards made from older kits found during your busy sorting out. Top marks!

I like them all, but think (by a smidge) that I agree with you on the brown one.

Hugs, Sarn xxx

How brave of you to have a purge! I really ought to do the same. Every time I am DETERMINED never to buy any more stash, I see something gorgeous and my resolve... just... evaporates!

What lovely, CAS cards! I love the trad colours, and the sweet ornament!

This is a terrific colour combo and probably not one I would have thought about using! They look great - have an edging towards the brown one but really they all look scrummy!x

Great cards Mo! And I'm going to agree with the majority on the brown having just a whisker of an edge.

Thank you for playing in the Snippets Playground with us :)

I think you are right with the brown but they are all lovely.
Pity I didn't live closer as I would whisk those 6x6 right out of your room!! Use them all the time for me minis!

I like all the bases really - maybe the cream slightly more.
I hadn't notice that the stamp on my card had "Canada" on it - thanks for pointing it out to me.

Yes, I think the brown card base has the edge for me too Mo but they're all lovely. It sounds like you've been working very hard on sorting out your craft room. Have a nice cup of tea - you deserve it! Vicky x

What a fun find - your cards are adorable! Love the simple style! When I was packing up my craft supplies to move, I found all kinds of forgotten goodies too! In the old house, I crafted in my dining room so I had craft supplies hidden all over the house. I hope you find more gems like the card kits!
