Birthday Greetings

I finally cut into some of my Wild Rose Studio design papers.  I bought them at Flutterby's on my day out with Sam @ Hettiecraft and Di @ Pixies Crafty Workshop. I am quite proud of myself for using them as I have a tendency to hoard new items that I really like.  One of my New Years goals is to continue on with using up stash. But really, stash is anything in the craft room...so  this year I shall try to not only use up VOS (very old supplies),  but to use up some of my lovely new supplies  as well.

I am also going to continue on with using NBUS (never before used supplies), so hopefully this will push my creativity a little bit.  I used the Elizabeth, Happy Birthday die  for the sentiment. It was easy to use, but a bit of a bugger to glue down.
I added stickles to the wings and the tutu...Here is a bit of a closeup...
This year, I am following the lead of my blogging friends who finish up the inside of their cards as they create them. In that light, here is a photo of the inside of my card. Not as fancy as some, but finished none the less!

This card is for the little girl next door who will be turning 7 in February. I will print out the birthday greeting for her as she is just learning to read and write. I think she will get a kick out of reading my own handwriting.
She is quite girly and likes to dress up in costumes. Fairies, princesses and fancy gowns...that is her joy. I hope she will like this fairy birthday card. Hopefully, that magic wand will make her birthday wishes come true!

Recipe
White card base and envelope -  from my stash
Design Papers - Wild Rose Studio, Annabelle's Meadow
Cardstock - snippets of yellow and pink card and a snippet of darker rose card from my stash
Dies - Quickcuts corner dies; Stampin' Up Embosslits Beautiful Wings (butterflies), Elizabeth Happy Birthday die, Marianne die for the yellow circle doily die
Image -  Stampendous cling, Ballerina Kiddo
Bling - clear diamonds from my stash

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
2. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Emboss it (the butterflies are embossed)
3. Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge - must cover card base with patterned paper

That image is so cute and I love the design of your card - the inside is just right in my opinion, not too much but perfectly finished. Hugs, Anne x

Awww! Cute card and image, but the papers are gorgeous.
A good way of gluing on fiddly bits is to spread some glue on the back of your hand and then put the paper on and then stick it down. As long as you are only using pva type glue.
Hugs

I will never understand why folks like you and I hoard pretty papers - especially when they make darling cards like this! Congrats for cutting into the pad - it was well worth it! I'm taking your lead and taking a vow to do the same throughout the coming year! I love the sparkly wings and cute butterflies!

Applause on continuing on with your paper stash goal. I'm smiling that you achieved it on this pretty card. Really a sweet image, colored up so pretty, and a 7yr old Miss will just love it. This DP is so perfect for a girl, and like the way you've done the layout. More applause on the interior decorations too. I'm gonna be inspired to do the same (now if I remember when I get in a hurry, that's gonna be another thing!) Great card, Maureen. TFS & let's see if they have any hot cider in the Playhouse. Did Parsnip get the fishbowl off his head yet? HUGS

That was one of my goals for the new year too - to use up my stash - however, just bought 4 new paper packs tomorrow! Must be an addiction!! LOL!

Love your sweet and pretty card! She's adorable and love the butterflies you added! Outstanding.

Good girl, stash using is my goal too. Do you think we will reach goal? Note, this is the same one I have every year and I'm not there yet. I think your little neighbor is going to think you are the best adult EVER! your card is very sweet. Love the glittered wings! Finishing the inside, something I have to do or I'll never get back to it. I like what you did. Very nice inside and out. Oh, I am Very jealous, you get to pal around with 2 great ladies. BTW. Check your email. I answered your question.

LOVELY card Mo. I often only stamp the sentiment inside the card, but it finishes it off and makes a difference to carry some of the design through, so I must try and remember to do this!

Such a pretty card and the sparkle shows up well on your photo. I don't usually do the inserts at the same time as the card. sometimes I do, if I am making the card from scratch for a particular person. Otherwise, I do the personal insert when I am ready to send it. This year, I am intending to sell a few cards at craft fairs with my daughter, so I shall do generic type inserts with those. Glad you like the card with the bark on. I have further plans to use the silver birch bark in a different way, but I will show that once I have had a go. Have a good week. xx Maggie #24
