Best Wishes

I managed to use up another prefolded card. This aqua card and envelope seemed the perfect colour to give a suggestion of a sky background. I decided to make some quick cards using some dollar store 3D Owl pairs.

To aid in the endeavour to make quick cards, I tried to use stash sitting out on my desk waiting to be filed away, as well as  precut dies. When I am really bored, or when my mojo has gone walkabout, I sit and precut all sorts of dies from my snippets stash. That always leaves me with a healthy amount to take to crops or when we go to the lake. A few days ago, I sat and punched Martha stewart Hydrangea flowers and various small word dies, out of some really teensy snippets. Luckily, these were still sitting out on my desk...waiting to be filed!

Everything on this card was from my precut stash and so in total, this was about a 15 minute card!
I inked the edges of the card to contribute to the sky effect, using a Ingrid Bolme aqua chalk ink.
Placed a stitched Lawn Fawn stitched circle that I had chalked to look like clouds, and then off center matted a larger brown circle behind it. Set that on my card so it displayed just north of my card's center and added the 3D Owls as well as an Elizabeth Craft Best Wishes diecut, dotting the letter i with a pearl.

Used an ivory Lawn Fawn stitched hills diecut that had got a bit bent in my storage system.  I added to the bent look by crumpled it all different ways in my fist and then chalked across it with a couple shades of green.  Added a bit of brown chalk to create an impression of dirt and placed a Memory Box Small Alder Tree tree there.  Slid a scrap paper under the branches and rubbed green chalk over the tree buds with a brighter green chalk.

Added some blue and purple flowers randomly and placed a pearl in the center of each. Grabbed my trusty Stardust stickles and highlighted the buds as well as the flowers petals. I even added a bit to the owls.

The card seemed to be lacking something, so I added a 3D butterfly...another dollar store find.

I am happy as I think this is not bad for a 15 minute card. It would have been faster but I used Dots to affix the flowers and that took precious minutes up to place them! lol

As everything on this card came from snippets, I am taking this card over to Pixies Crafty Workshop
where the theme is always Must Use Snippets...

Good for you at using up some snippets to make this cuties. Love the tiny blossoms on the tree, and love the way you've showcased this owl pair. I always love the die cut sentiments, (and frequently use a pearl for the missing 'dot' over the i!) Your chalk background is so pretty. TFS & Have a great week. Hugs

Very cute card! I love the owls! Well done for 15 min! That's a good idea to make a bunch of die-cuts ahead of time! Love what you did to the landscape die-cut - crumpling it up and chalking it gave lots of texture!

What a cute card, clever layout with the owls and circle looking like a moon, beautifully designed tree with tiny flowers. Even when I've got everything on my desk I can't make it in 15 minutes, I need time to move things around, just to be sure where to glue them down, even though I might end up with the original idea of layout.

Enjoy relaxing where you are, and I can't wait to see the kids' cards. I know they will be just precious, and that's part of the fun of this card making. Many times I like a card that is 'not perfect' much more than one that is done just absolutely so. And especially with the little ones' work. They will be thrilled. TFS & Hugs

Hmmm, thought I'd commented earlier on this cute owl tree card, but not seeing my earlier comment (just made one about the kids' cards). This is adorable, and I love the tree with the owl couple. Good for you at a super rescue, because it surely is pretty! Hope this comment goes through. Hugs

Loving this card Mo - so cute and even if it took 15 minutes it certainly looks as if it took much, much longer with all the wonderful detail you added!

Great to see you in the Playground.

I am loving this card Maureen! I think it turned out so cute, love those owls and the butterfly. Great idea to punch/cut from snippets. I have a few containers filled with punched out items. I also love all the ways you have used your chalks on this card. I need to get my chalks back out and use them once again. I think this was a fast card!!! Hugs, Brenda
