Peonies and Friends

Here is another of the cards from my weekly paper crafting days with my neighbour. It was her turn to make the page kits and I think she aced it with this card!

The week before when we had lunch and crafted at my house, she asked to use my Big Shot and some Memory box Dies. I did not pay too much attention to what she was doing, as she is a scrapbooker and a card maker and I just though she was cutting some items for herself. I was busy working on my cards and didn't even glance over to see what she was cutting.

Well, it was the dies for this card! Didn't she surprise me! This was a quick and fun card to make. It was just a matter of grab, cut, punch, glue and done...loved it. I am one of those people that takes forever to make a card. I am one of those people sho take forever to make a card. I often overthink and overwork elements on my card. She is a great card making foil, as she is quick, decisive and glues and moves on!
The only thing we did that took an extra minute, was inking the background of the peony with some pink chalk ink. We then went over it with a clear Wink of Stella pen...two minutes tops!
Perhaps you can see a bit of that shimmer here...

When we started our card kits and lunch sessions, we agreed that the cards we made would be quick and easy. Both of us agree that it has been such fun thinking of cards to create, and then making up the kits. This endeavor is really helping me to fill up my finished card boxes and for that I am so grateful.

Recipe:

Fabulous card Mo! I'm a slow crafter mostly - like you I often seem to hit a point where I overthink things. Sounds like your friend will be some wind beneath your wings when crafting :)

How fun to have a weekly "date" to get together and play. I'll bet you two have created lots of wonderful things together. This card is quite lovely. I chuckled that Lisa used your dies to make up the card kit this week. Have you looked at these dies in a new light yet? I know sometimes when people use my stuff it makes me look at it differently.

It sounds like we're two of a kind, I'm really slow too, moving bits and pops around for ages, reflecting hard on what papers to use etc. and I'm also quite a messy crafter, lol. This is beautiful, lovely flower die cut and floral DP!

I think it is wonderful that you have a friend who loves to craft as much as you do. The best thing is the fact that you have such a good friendship and are able to get together with each other. Your card is just lovely. You and her both did such a great job putting together items for this card. Again how lucky you are my friend...Hugs, joann

Hi Maureen,
you sound just like me I over think my cards too, and sometimes overdo them too.
I am also a slow crafter the majority of the time too.
Love this beautiful creation, and that flower is superb.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Oh, Oh, Oh! I have this die and this paper! Do you see why I'm going into fits? This is so lovely, and what a fantastic design. As I read through your 'take forever to make a card' I was chuckling. I'm the same way. Very slow. After I get the idea, takes me forever to get it done. Difficult to be in classes, cause I'm always last to finish, etc. This does not look like a fast card at all. Lucky you that she made such a pretty for you. TFS it with us, and those stellas are fantastic. Hugs & Happy wkend.

Hi Maureen - you know we were out of the same pod when it comes to card making ie we both take ages and ages and I am with you when it comes to overthinking. This card is simply gorgeous and I am so amazed at how quickly it was accomplished. I think your neighbour should move next door to me!!!! I love the peony die too - and the shimmer from the pen. Just beautiful.

Hugs to you Sue Pxxx

Hi Mo

It must be lovely to craft with your neighbour.

I love how you both work on projects to make alongside each other. It must be a good way to get to try something new or possibly something you might never have thought of making for yourself.

This card here is lovely. Especially that stunning peony.

I hope you have had a lovely weekend.

Love Jules xx
