Well, I am really sliding in under the wire...for a while there I thought I might even not get my card submitted in time!
We have been busy in the garden this month...whenever the sun breaks through the gloom, we have been found in the garden, digging and dividing up our perennials...well...DH has been digging that is!
It hasn't been done for over 6 years so really was needing to be done. I will post some pictures when we are finally finished up with it.
This has put me quite a bit behind in the card creations department let me tell you! I have quite a bit of catching up to do with my visits as well...I try to catch up by paging back and commenting on any posts that I missed, so hopefully I have not missed too much or missed anyone completely!
Here is my card for Rudolph Day. It is a Stampin' Up image and the card has been kept simple to allow the simple beauty of the tree image to shine through. No patterned paper was used...just a bit of snowflake stamping with some versamark ink and heat embossed on the brown card base...just to the right of the white scalloped border.
I played with the idea of putting stickles on the trees just to kid of sparkle up the filligree look but so far I have resisted...what do you think?
Recipe
Cardstock - brown, olive green, white, and red from stash
Ribbon - from stash; I think it is a Stampin' Up ribbon snippet
Punches - Stampin' Up scallop edge border punch and scalled square (tucked up under bottom right corner of the image) and the Word Window punch for the sentiement
Bling - from stash
Stamps - Stampin' Up Patterned Pines image and sentiment
I am submitting this card to the following challenges:
1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
2. Stamping For Pleasure (Rudolph Day) - must be Christmas

I love this, Maureen! No one blames you for spending as much time as you can outside after the dreadfully long winter! Don't overdo and hurt yourself, however. I'm glad to hear your Mister is doing the digging!!
Hi Mo
Fabulous card.... Love those trees.... Congrats on your Christmas card win... Well deserved it was a fabulous card....
Hugs Sylvie xx
Love the stamped trees! :)
And pretty ribbon.
The red and brown color scheme really works well for a Christmas card, and I like that you used red instead of green for your trees. I like the simplicity of this card, so my recommendation is to leave this beautiful card just as it is.
Wow what a lovely Christmas Tree card Maureen. Like you say, it didn't need any fancy paper as the trees do all the talking!
Can't wait to see the results of your garden hard work.

Fabulous card Maureen, love the colours. Carol x
i thought i was the only one running late with my rudolph day card. lol. this is gorgeous and i love the versamark snowflake stamping. i think the trees look great as they are and don't need stickles because of the pattern. don't worry about catching up commenting with me; i'm so far behind, i'll never get caught up and i just won't worry about it. haha
Beautiful Christmas trees, and right on to let these pretties take the stage. I'm liking this color combo too. Your brown snowflakes really popped against the white scallop border too. Wonderful card, and happy gardening. TFS & Hgs
Fabulous card. Really thought you had paper pierced the trees.! Hugs mrs a.
This is a lovely Christmas card, I love your trees and the embossed snowflakes - you were so right to keep things quite simple.

Perfect! I also thought you'd paper pieced the trees. Love the fresh look and I'd leave the Stickles off - err, unless you already did that since posting this :)
Hugs, Di xx
I don't know how I keep missing your posts Maureen, this one didn't show up at all on my dashboard. It happened with another blog and in the end I stopped following the re-signed up and it seemed to fix the issue.
Just read your comments about farming, I was brought up on a farm as well and my Dad loved the cards with tractors and so on. But since he died a couple of years back so many new rural and animal stamps have appeared which he would have loved.
I love your crisp and elegant Christmas cards, now if I could get organised I too could have some in readiness. I do start most years about May, but they are always samples for TV and so on and I am fed up with them by the time I need some.

I not only LOVE this color combination - but I love the simplicity! The way you placed the sentiment looks so nice!
Very stylish! Gr8 use of snippets hugs Juls xxx
Really lovely card, love the different types of tree and to be quite think they look fine as they are as there is a lot of stickle be tempted just to run the quickie glue pen and shake on a bit of glitter if I felt it was needed. Love the idea of the brown card.

Hi Maureen, I'm not a bit surprised you've been tempted out into the garden ... when the weather is good there is no better place to be. Your card is lovely - like the trees and the embossed panel. Elizabeth xx
Your card looks fantastic.
It is still pretty cold here. I have been taking my morning walks, and then am chilled for the whole day. So not yet ready to dig in the flower beds here.
Actually I had heard snow in the forecast..but I am thinking that was (hopefully) incorrect.
