This week has flown by...it hardly seems a full week since we last peeked into the desks of all the crafty lads and lasses...Pop into Julia's blog to get this weeks sneak peeks. http://stamping-ground.blogspot.ca/ Wow...that rhymes! LOL
No desk photo's of my desk today...I was over with my grandchildren all day so instead, I am sharing a picture of the "desk" Little Miss C and I used today. I was under strict instructions that she wanted to create some more cards.
All this cardmaking interferes with little Mr P's plans for the day. Usually he has Grandma all to himself on Tuesdays. During the school year, Tuesdays are his day off preschool. We have a little routine of Starbucks for a cookie and small sized hot chocolate, a huge coffee for Grandma and then a walk home to play board games after lunch!
Having his sister home all day, every day, for a couple of months, has thrown a monkey wrench into the board games! Today's new routine, consisted of cardmaking from what felt like dawn to lunchtime, a trip to Starbucks for all of us, and then home for the board games. Was he disappointed when she raced off to her room to play with her hampster and it was just he and I for Mousetrap. I had to remind him the game would last longer with just 2 players and then he was happy. He was even happier when he won!!!
Enough nattering...here is what little Miss C created today...
Although she won't be 6 till mid-October, she is very arty. She is quite good at concentrating for long periods of time and takes pride in doing things well. I am always impressed at her endurance when we paper craft together.
I got the idea of purchasing watercolour paper thank you card packs at Michaels. I think they are 8 for $1.50 The card base is lightweight but not too bad, and it is completely flat sheen with a wee bit of texture to the card.
She places 3 dimensional stickers from the Dollar Store onto the card fronts, chalks the edges and carefully slides the finished cards and envelopes into a little acetate sleeve and puts a wee price tag of $1.50 each (now that's a entrepreneur...making 8 times the cost).
She wants to put them in the craft fair her mom is organizing... but so far, they mostly sell fairly quickly after she finishes them:) I think she has made over 20 so far...
I think the cutest thing is that she likes assembling them into the sleeves and sticking on the wee tags just as much as making them.
She has some close ups of her cards on her blog today. She also explains her "creative process".
Her blog is The Pony Girl06 http://theponygirl06.blogspot.ca/

What better reason for no desk photo than spending time with a grandchild. I hope you enjoy your day! Dani#26
Little Miss Busy Busy! How cute is she and obviously takes after Grandma with her creativity.
It's lovely to hear about kiddywinks having special time playing boardgames.
Good Luck with the craft fair...I'm sure she'll be a knockout!

How lovely to be having fun with Grandma. I loved playing mouse trap as a child - isn't it great how the best games live on through generations. Thanks for popping by. WOYWW Hugs from Helen 19

She did such a great job on the cards! Very pretty :)
I totally understand about summer routines. It's been a bit of a challenge at times, but fun.
Such cute cards! No better way to spend time than with the grandchildren. Precious times.
Sounds like your grand daughter will be paying her way through college if she keeps this up! She has a very good eye though, those cards are very pretty.

great fun you are having together ! Lovely to see the next generation of crafters in the making ! Thanks for stopping by earlier ! Ali #53
I'd skip playing in my studio to play with my grandkids too.. then if they're here they have their own little spot in the studio with all the supplies they are allowed to use and we "art" together that's one of my favorite times well right after storytelling. Have a great day !
simply wonderful!!
What a wonderful grandma...the cards are adorable too
What a fun grandmother you are! You are making wonderful memories with her!
You've got quite the little business woman on your hands there, Grandma! And I loved your Tuesday Time with just Mr. P., playing board games. How fun!!
I use to love playing mousetrap, glad to see that it is still around! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
Fabulous cards especially from one so young. How nice that you are crafting together. Thank you for visiting my desk and have a fabulous week xx #103

What fun you must have together crafting away. I have left a message on her blog about her wonderful cards. Sandy :) #43
What a talented creative soul your granddaughter is! It's fantastic that she can concentrate like that at her age - I help at a kids club and the little ones always rush their artwork so we have to find something else for them to do while the older ones finish! Sorry you lost Mouse Trap - better luck next time!!
Sounds like you've been having fun! The thank you cards are great! x
You can never start too young! I have been crafting with Mum since I was about 3 and I love it. Skills for life. You have a talented and very lucky granddaughter. x M
Her cards turned out adorable!
Aww so cute, so nice to have a child interestred. My son used to do a bit with me but at 13yrs he's not at all interested in papercrafting now!
As for the ironing, I do it in my bedroom along with my crafting and actually managed most of the pile I photographed on Wednesday. I used to use the ironing board for crafting too until my hubby made my desk bigger. I HAVE to put mine away else I'd be tripping over it.
Thanks for stopping by - BJ#76
WOW! Not even 6 and she's already making AND SELLING her own cards?!?! Impressive! And they're beautiful!

My daughter is 15 but is a tom boy, her colours are black and purple and she is not really into art, mind you she has picked art classes in her next school year so watch this space lol lol may have a crafter after all lol. Been looking through all your posts, the wedding looked amazing, love all the creations you have made and really love the crafty goody bag you made for your friend. Happy woyww :-) Kerry x
