Christmas Card Club - Card for someone special

Time for my Christmas Card Club creation. Zoe has chosen the theme of  "A Card For Someone Special".  My card will be for my Grandson.

Here is another card from my Wellington Bear Decoupage kit. This was a very quick make as once I had the topper finished, I had but to rummage through my bits files for the rest!

Old:
The plaid mat is cut from a 5x7 card set bought after Christmas at Michaels (a couple of years ago)
The dark green edging mat is from some snippets of scrapbook DP...Very, very old...VOS in fact...
The damask embossed read card mat and kraft edging was already assembled in my bits box...left overs from a card class years ago.
The fine jute twine is a favourite of mine as it is fine enough to tie into a bow and yet still slide trough regular postage. I always try to have a supply on hand.
The decoupaged bear, the edges of the topper and the kraft mat were given a liberal coating of Stardust Stickles...Sadly, it was the last drop of this bottle of stickels. I think I see a shopping trip in the very near future! Here is a bit of a closeup...

New:
The Wellington Bear decoupage image, the wee inside topper and the sentiment, are all from a new card kit package purchased just before Christmas at my local papercrafts store. Such fun to open that package!
The twine is new...finally ran out of my old supply of it.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

1. Christmas Card Club - Card for someone special
2. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets.

  26. How cute Maureen! Love the plaid backing you used and isn't that little chap very much like wee Parsnip? :) Ha! Except that Parsnip doesn't wear glitter very often - I think he should as it certainly looks lovely on your card!
