This card is another one made totally from my snippets files. I also used die cuts that I have cut ahead and stored. The frame die is so old that I will have to guess as to the source. I think it is either from the free accucut machines and dies at my local store...or it is a sizzix die...not too sure which! It was cut years ago and has been residing in the photo albums I use to store he dies I have precut.
The DP is from my snippets files Not sure of the manufacturers. The flowers are really old. Years old in fact! Sadly, this is the last of them. They were left over from a wedding or perhaps Little Miss C's baby scrapbook. She is turning 9 in October...so they are certainly old! A VOS item for sure.
I added a pink rhinestone to each blossom. Although it looks as if it is a single strip of flowered ribbon trim, it is actually 3 strips pieced together. Two sets of 2 blossoms and a piece of 3. I only had those pieces left and was happy to see I could make them fit.
The Happy Birthday die is an Elizabeth Die. I love those dies as they are small enough to fit in a tight space. Perfect for those cards where you forget to allow for a sentiment and then think of it at the last minute! I had one wee Enjoy tag left over from a previous creation, so tucked it in as well. Hid the tag scalloped edge under the border strip of blossoms.
I gave a generous coating of star dust stickles to the frame diecut and to the sentiment. There is a bit more stickles on the tutu ruffle, the flowered bodice and on the hair band flower. I love stardust stickles as it is shimmery without overpowering a card. I pop dotted the frame and the ballerina forward with some very slim pop dots. I like the effect...
I am quite pleased that I managed to create a much more colourful card than my norm. If I can continue creating with brighter colours at least once a month, I shall be happy!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
She is indeed a little sweetie Mo, any girl wold love to receive it.
ReplyDeleteSee you over in the playground, I just read that Sarn and Miss Di think it's been nice and quiet over there this week so looks like we got away with the shenanigans up in the treehouse.

ReplyDeleteYour card is really a sweetie and you have made all with snippets and old items from your stash! Wow, it's great! I also always precut shapes with snippets and leftover to store them :) ...and when I can use some of these diecuts I feel good :D
ReplyDeleteLove the colours you used and how the stripe of little flowers matches perfectly with the dp. All the sparkling looks very well!

What an adorable card with all that sparkle and shimmer! WTG using all those nice colors too! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThis little ballerina is perfectly darling. I love that you were able to find all the VOS bits & pieces and make such a colorful & cute card. Good for you at finding the frames & papers (which are so pretty too). I especially love the Elizabeth sentiment dies, and try to find ones for all the occasions. They always cut well, fit the spaces needed, and once I started using them, I don't reach for a stamped sentiment that much. I like the dimension. Looks great on this card, as does all the sparkle. TFS & hugs
