October Rudolph Day

Due to my husband being very poorly, I am delaying the winner draws till November 15. I just have not had enough time to visit and separate who paper pieced etc. This will givew me time to visit everyone and type the post etc.

My husband is having a tough fight back to healing. He is a 3o min drive away, but complicated as I don't drive. My daughteers alternate taking me but in between I have been kept busy as Al was in the midst of a garage remodel when he had the heart attack. So, I have been steadily working on organizing the mountain of items that were piled in the center of the garage floor as he worked. The goal is to have the truck stored safely in the garage before he gets home.

I have also set up our ground level bottom floor as a bedroom/sitting area for him to recover in. That way, he can do the two flights of stairs to the masterbedroom when he is feeling well enough. I am amazed at the mountain of items I have carried downstairs so far! Luckily, there is a second kitchen and also my craft room on that bottom floor, so I will cook down there as well. It is moving the food items and kitchen supplies that has been quite a bit of work...

  27. It sounds like you will have everything set up to help Al heal and to make life as easy as possible for him when he gets home. Well done! Having had a heart attack myself a year ago, I know how important those first weeks at home are - resting, taking it easy, having others cook meals for me - all that was huge in my recovery. Wishing Al a speedy recovery!

  30. Mo, you are being such a star in this time of absolute stress! You have a TON of stuff on your plate that takes absolute priority over Rudolph Days. Don't give it another thought for however long it takes to get hubby on his feet again and on the road to full recovery. I wish I lived nearby so I could come over to help out; rest assured from here I am keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. Huge hugs, Darnell

  32. Maureen, I'm glad you are focusing on your hubby and also your health as you go through this difficult time. My hubby had a stroke several years ago and I remember that nothing else in life matters until he was back home and healing. So, please take care and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

  33. I know what you're going through, and you need to make you and your hubby the priority right now. I pray for his healing and for your sense of calm to return in the days ahead. My hubby had a triple bypass and came through it better than any of us imagined, so I will keep Al and you in my prayers as the healing days begin! Just breathe!! Big hugs coming your way!
