April Rudolph Days Challenge

It is time for the April Rudolph Days Challenge. The time seems to have flown by for me, since last months challenge!

Our designers have been busy creating lovely cards for your inspiration. First up is Sue at Sue's Crafty Corner. Sue's card features this delightful robin. I love the colouring on this pretty bird and also love that glittery background! I see I will have to pop over to Sue's and check out how she made this card. Best of all, Sue has made multiples of her card. She is always so good with that! I hope you will pop over to Sue's blog and leave her a comment. Just click the hyperlink above...

Sam at Whispers Cards blog has made us two lovely cards. The first one has a beautiful non traditional colour scheme. The sweet floral bouqet is highlighted by a lovely die that has the sentiment written around the circular shape. That die is so cool! I like the design Sam created here.

Sam's second card is lovely too. This one follows a similar design, but has a totally different look with soft, light colours this time. The snowman is a sweetie and she has used that lovely die again to frame the snowman. I hope you will pop over and visit Sam on her blog, just follow the hyperlink here.

Just a little update on Al and I. We both had our first jab. Mine was last week, and Al was two weeks ago as he is ever so slightly older than me! Both our daughters and our son-in-law have had theirs too! We feel blessed. Canada has a vaccine shortage at the moment as we do not make any vaccines here. Therefore, the government has decided to protect as many people as possible with the first jab and delay the second jab for 16 weeks. Not sure how I feel about being part of an experiment to see if the vaccine protects effectively for the 16 week delay, but such is life!

They have tightened our restrictions here and travel outside our public area is prohibited, and restaurants have closed to indoor dining again. We had self isolated the whole time so being able to meet the kids outside again (socially distanced) is wonderful. Just a few more days for me and we can do that again!

More good news for me too! I have a date for the breast clinic at the end of May. They do the mamagram, ultrasound and any scans there before they see you. So it is good that I will have the protection of the vaccine for that visit as I think the visit is 2 1/2 hours long. Although it has been a long wait for the appointment, part of that is due to covid and the rest of the wait is just part of the price of free medical care. Although our medical system is free, we have a shortage of specialists and doctors, so we have to put up with wait times...

Our prize this month is this Memory Box Circle Frame.

  4. I have had my first jab as well, next one in July. (guess half a loaf is better than none) Isn't it great I'm not flying in the last day in the last hour to post my card, On Earth day I made a card out of a card LOL, and thought perfect for Rudolph Days, now to remember I have already entered. I look forward to the challenge every month and sure don't want to miss one month. BTW lovely prize too, it's beautiful.

  7. Love that robin and the script circle frame, and the prize is a beautiful die. So good to hear you have had your first vaccine. We had ours this month, but here in Spain we get the second one after three weeks, even though they have real problems getting supplies.
I hope your appointment goes well. Thanks for another fun challenge. Kate x

  9. Beautiful cards from your DT, Maureen. Glad you've had your first vaccination. I had my first one in February and an appointment has come through for my second one this Wednesday. They seem to be rolling out the vaccinations fairly quickly in the UK. xx

  10. So happy you've gotten your first shots! They didn't have time to figure out the best timing for the 2nd shot, so 16 wks may be fine. Totally worth having protection now rather than waiting months longer, in my opinion! Free is good, but wow--such a long time to wait. Hope you're not still having so much pain, Mac. Great inspiration from the DT & oh boy do I LOVE the prize this month! Sending hugs, Greta

  12. Now that it's Rudolph Days again, I had better hole up in my craft room (which is actually just my dining room table) and make my card. Although I send out photo cards to most friends and family each year, I always like to have a little stack of cards for teachers and special friends. Thanks for keeping me on track!
How wonderful that you finally got your first shot. My husband and I are due for our second one at the end of next week and it will feel good to have that done. We're still being very careful though, because our kids aren't old enough to be vaccinated. Keep well Maureen!

  16. It's always fun to join in the Rudolph challenge and be able to add to my stack of Christmas cards for the coming year. The DT samples are so beautiful and today was a great one for staying indoors and crafting.
I'm so glad to hear that you've gotten your first shot, but am surprised that Canada is having such a vaccine shortage. I do hope the 16 week wait doesn't have a negative impact, but I know that you are being careful regardless. Also happy to hear that you finally have an appt to get all your tests done at once. I much prefer staying for a long appt if I can avoid multiple trips out.

  17. What gorgeous inspiration this month! Ladies, they are all just beautiful. Thanks for the chance to add to my Christmas stash. I love having them complete when Christmas rolls around. Hope you are all staying safe and healthy! Hugs to you all!

  18. Lovely cards from Sue and Sam - and that's a lovely prize!
Well done on getting the first jabs. Kevin had had his first but as I am slightly younger I don't know when I will be getting mine. Good luck with the hospital visit!
We have been very fortunate here in Melbourne (Australia). The severe lockdowns seem to have worked and we are 'almost normal'. keeping our fingers crossed though as Perth is now on a 3 day lockdown again. It has been lovely to see the kids, go to the theatre, go out for meals. It is amazing that these things are a real novelty these days!
    Best wishes
    Sue xx

  20. Hi Maureen,
    Happy Rudolf Days.
Super DT cards as always from the DT ladies.
Will pop over to their bloggs to leave them some love soon.
I had my second jab on Saturday feeling okay this time around.
Still having big probs with my Arthritis getting lots more pain now which takes me so long to do anything.
I know you have been there so you can relate to it.
Still I musn't grumble as there are people more worse off than me.
Hate that I can't do the same things I used to just in small stages.
My Daughter says next time she is going to take me out in a wheelchair not looking frward to that I like to get exercise if I can not going to give up yet hopefully.
I do so hope all is well at your house and your family are all well.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  36. Beautiful cards by Sue and Sam! Thank you for another Rudolph Day challenge to keep us all on track - I definitely need the prod each month! I've already fallen behind on my goal of 2 per month. Sounds like you've got a lot of great things happening healthwise - I'm so happy to read it! Nova Scotia has a tight lockdown at this time. We had been doing so well up until now. Oh well. I'll be back shortly to link up my card!

  40. A wee bit late with this post, made my card yesterday and then forgot...is that age?? Anyway fabulous cards from Sue and Sam - multiples is always great. Serious times and we've all adapted, and glad to hear you've had your first jab... things are a lot slower here in OZ but we'll get there, not as tight on restrictions though... card makers don't mind, more time to play...take care best of luck with the breast checks Maureen, Robyn
