I kept them very, very simple in design and tried very hard to use up some VOS (very old stash) in the creating of them. I seemed to have a plethora of embellishments suitable for toddler cards and also cards for school age children. Mostly leftovers from previous card making forays, and lots from the many garage sales I have attended each summer at my local papercraft store parking lot. Most of those garage sale embellies were 10 cents to 25 cents for a package of four items or more, so these were very economical cards to make!
I made up 24 sets of 3 cards each...One adult, one girl and one boy. It was great fun and although they may be very simple in design, I am still proud of them. I packaged them up three at a time, in large size Avery Elle envelopes. I could have easily slid in a fourth or maybe even a fifth card as their was lots of room...but sadly my fingers did not fly fast enough to finish more.
I forgot to take photos as I made them so you have to settle for rather poor photos of some the 3 packs already in their Avery Elle envelopes...in other words, photos with a bit of glare. You will have to imagine the middle card as it is hidden...
Each had a verse and I decorated the envelopes to match. I mostly used a balloon on the front of each envelope, coloured with pencil crayons and blended with gamsol to match the cards.

ReplyDeleteGosh, 72 cards, how long did it take you? I can honestly say I find them all very pretty, not a single one I would turn down. I’m so impressed! They might be simple to you, but I rarely add much more than what you’ve added on your cards here:)

ReplyDeleteI am truly honoured that you took the idea of making so many cards from me, it is a great task but worth it when it is for family members,
As you may also remember I did have the huge task of making cards for my x-place of work where in the first year I had to make 400, which was a bit of a nightmare and to be honest I thought that this year they did not want any but I got a call the other day to say they still wanted cards BUT thank goodness it was down to 50, as they still has some left from last year.
I view this as a great relief but also very sad as it must mean that business is not as good as it was.
This will also be my last year of making cards for my Grandsons as Ethan is in his 4th year at Grammea School and he only wants one card for his form teacher and Austin is in his last year at J&I school,, so after this year he will only want a teachers card.
Obviously. as I am also getting older, it does make life easier for me but in a way I feel that it is sad too.

ReplyDeleteWow, that work(load) is impressive! You sure have deserved a break -- and a glass of wine or two. Lovely bunch of creations and I love how they look like they are from the same "production line" -- don't know how to say it better in English but I mean that they have a similar look on the overall even though they don't look the same.
ReplyDeleteGlad to be back from my summer break (and also stuff happening after me and my new fiance have purchased a home late June and moving together -- so many crafting stuff are still in boxes and I have no idea where to find things that I need).
