Our design team ladies have been busy creating lots of inspiration for you!
First up is Sue Tossell at Sue's Crafty Corner blog. Sue has created this beautiful holly wreath and used it to frame the sentiment. Love this look! That bit of mirri for the sentiment mat sure catches the eye. Pop on over to Sue's blog and leave her some praise!
Jenny at Cardsarus blog has created this beauty of a shaker card! I love the pop of the red die cut against the white details.
Jenny always finishes the inside of her cards with as much detail as she puts on the outside. Pop on over to Jenny's blog to see, and leave her some love!
And now for my cards...
I picked up some Bringing The Tree Home new Christmas cards last year in the after Christmas clearance. I cut them up into toppers and used two of them to create these cards. I made these both up from my VOS snippets so do not know the manufacturers, etc.
First up is the Volkswagon bug card. The tree on this topper is a lovely mettalic green and I matted it with some red Mirri card. I used a snippet of this striped and glittered paper that you have seen me use so many times before. I love that it has two shades of green in the stripes, so it is easy to match other colours with it. I have tons of snippets of this DP as I made a Xmas album with it ( a long time ago).
I wrapped a fine jute string around the Kraft DP and tied a wee bow. I used this Kraft DP as it helped tie in the background colour of the topper.
Although the tree is more the darker green stripe, I punched the Martha Stewart snowflake from another snippet of acidy green glitter paper. It almost matches the lighter green stripe. The white snowflake on top is from Impression Obsession..
Next up is the red truck card. I matted the topper with black card and immediately regretted that I did not use glitter card so I ran a lick of VOS around the visible mat edge. The green holly DP is unknown and the strip is from a sticker sheet that was sold with that line. The design elements of the pattern on the border are heavily glittered.
The Kraft snowflake is Memory Box and the red mirri snowflake is Impression Obsession.
The prizes this month are a choice of this Recollections Mix and Match Sentiments stamp
or this Memory Box Evelyn Snowflake die

ReplyDeleteHi Maureen,
ReplyDeleteIgnore the email I just sent you.
I love Sue's card and your 2 designs are so lovely.
The VW car with that gorgeous colour tree on top is such a super one.
I just love the truck one too it just oozes Christmas and makes me think of the US and Cananada taking their trees home to decorate.
I always think that Your Christmas decs in the US and Cananda are so lovely.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Great cards Ladies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards - I'll be posting mine soon!

Lovely card from the designers again. You did well to make the sheen on the tree show up so well. I always find it hard to photograph. It is very 'UnChristmassy' here in Spain right now, with the thermometer showing 37ยบ in the shade, but it is still good to have an incentive to keep topping up my stash of cards. Kate xx
ReplyDeleteWill try and join in this month shoulder permitting. Hugs Mrs A.
