With Sympathy

I made this card last month  at Langley Stamps Club. I like to make sympathy cards ahead as it is always so hard to do at the time they are needed.

This was a simple yet effective design. The image was stamped on a snippet of white card and then a coordinating embossing fold was carefully lined up over the image. The resulting embossed design highlights the image and raised it forward.

All it took to finish this card, was a sprinkling of random sized clear rhinestone jewels, placed in the center of each blossom.   The sentiment was stamped on a wee snippet of left over white card and pop dotted forward.

That finished image topper was matted with a flat black cardstock and placed on a white 5 x 7 card.

I would like to make a few more of this card, and would use a variety of different colours for the stamped image and background mat. The sentiments could vary from Hello, Happy Birthday or just Thinking of you.  This card is generic enough to be used for any occasion.

Simple but effective, methinks.

I am entering this card in the following challenge

1. Stamping Sensations -  Flower Power
2. Allsorts - Wings

  8. Hi Maureen,
what a brilliant design card, and just right for the occasion.
We all hate making these type of cards, but yours is so super.
Love and big hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  9. Very lovely sympathy card. I try to do the same thing and make these cards ahead of time. When I am creating a card, sometimes I just think that it would make a nice sympathy card, and then that is the sentiment I add, because otherwise it is so hard to make them. Thanks for sharing!

  13. This is perfect for a sympathy card Mo and one that you could stamp in lots of different colours. I absolutely agree with you about making a few sympathy cards ahead as I find it so hard to make them at the time. Hope you're keeping well and happy X X

  15. Really lovely sympathy card, I too like to have some on hand, like you say it is hard when the occasion does arise. Gorgeous stamp and the grey colour is perfect, not too dramatic as it would be in black.
Thank you for joining in our Wings challenge this week at Allsorts.

I absolutely love this design and your idea of dry embossing after stamping, it's beautiful!

  31. A very pretty & comforting design with the nature silhouette and works nicely on a sympathy card. I really liked the way you've done the embossing over the top of the stamped image. Hope things are getting just a bit better on the Home front. Prayers & Hugs. TFS
