Remember that rhyme? What fun we used to have when we were kids, chanting that rhyme on a hot summer day...
My card today is using up some more of the seashells that were featured on my recent Mermaid card.
I did colour up quite a few extra shells, so thought I had better just get them made up rather than create yet another UFO envelope.
I hand cut some heavy card to make a 5x7 tent fold card. I don't make tent folds very often as sometimes they do not want to stay upright! They can sort of "collapse" when displayed! Luckily, this one is standing up nicely.
I scribbled some Prismacolour pencils across the card front. Just a little bit of blue and a little of a tan colour. I blended them with gamsol and I think I they suggest a nice beachy feel...hopefully you think so too!
I merely arranged the shells, popping the starfish and the conch shell forward with some thin pop dots.
That it! A quick, simple and fun to make beach themed card. I left it with out a sentiment until I decide just what I will use it for.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets (the shells were stamped and fussy cut from snippets)
This CAS design is fantastic, Maureen. Unusually CAS for you, but wow do you know how to keep it simple and gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteYour light touch with the pencils truly did evoke a beach & water soft seascape. Love the pretty shells all popped up as you've arranged them. Wonderful use of your UFO-s to create a lovely Playground entry. Well done! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card - those seashells look so real! xx
ReplyDeleteThis is just dreamy, and so perfect for a hot summer day! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThose sea shells are gorgeous. I love how you added just a hint of color to suggest a beach without coloring the entire background. Leaving all that white space really works for this card. I don't know that I would be able to leave the white space like that.
ReplyDeleteAs always your card is a delight MO and your use of inks and shells is very effective.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend.

ReplyDeleteGreat summer card Mo, which it was more like summer here - pelting down with rain at the mo! Just home until Sunday then it's away down South again so have a great weekend and will catch up again soon. x
ReplyDeleteA really nice snippet card. I leave mine without sentiments often....seems if I put them on, I need a card for something I don't have. Great idea. Your card does have me ready for a trip to the ocean.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card Maureen, such pretty sea shells and lovely background.
