Once again it is time for our fortnightly challenge at the Christmas Card Challenge. We are a group of ladies who make a Christmas card each fortnight, taking turns to choice the theme. It was my turn this fortnight and my choice is Feature A Creature or even a Critter! If you wish to check out the cards from the other members, I have the hyperlinks to their blogs on my right sidebar.
I picked this Penny Black Caroling Trio stamp for my Creatures. I have always loved this image and decided to spark it up a smidge and use some brighter colours for this card. I had a snippet of musical note organza ribbon and thought it suited the carolling mice quite nicely.
I chose that brilliant teal card for the mat as I happened to have that snippet in my bits box, already edged punched and all. What luck!
Once I had the image matted and mounted on the background DP design, I added a couple of dollar store lime green felt snowflakes from my stash. These came on a sheet of bright aqua and bright green snowflakes in various sizes. I think they were great value for money and enjoyed using their bright shot of colour.
Recipe
Card base - 5 1/2 inch square textured card base and envelope from my stash
Card - snippet of teal card for image mat
DP - he black typewritten DP is Authentique Collection Joyous, and the red and white is Best Creations, Merry Christmas
Punch - Martha Stewart
Snowflakes - dollar store assortment from my stash
Bling - aqua pearls from my stash
Ribbon - snippet of musical note organza ribbon from my stash
Stamp - Penny Black Caroling Trio... colored with copics
I am entering this card in the following challenges
1. Christmas Card Club - Feature a Creature
2. Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge - must cover front of card base with patterned paper
3. Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything goes as long as it is Christmas
4. Pixies Crafty Workshop - Must use snippets
