Waste not, want not - Round II Card 41

This Marjoleine Bastin image has been lying in my garden themed drawer for years. My girlfriend gave me this image on a card and I loved it so much, I cut it out and saved it,.

I decided to pull it out and make up a simple card with it. The image was already edged with a gilded edge. I added a snippet of pearlescent navy for a mat and stickled the butterfly wings and some of the flowers with Stardust stickles. Set that onto a kraft card base and left it at that.

A very simple card but one that I will be happy to give to a friend...I need to remember more often that they do not always have to be detailed to still be enjoyed! Hopefully you can see the shimmer of the stickles...

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets

  1. This is a lovely image Mo, I can see why you liked it so much. I can almost smell the scent of these lovely spring flowers. A welcome reminder of spring, it has been decidedly chilly and wintery here this week.

  10. What a beautiful image Mo, I am so glad you saved it and made such a beautiful reminder of Spring days ahead. Cold and frosty here this morning so Spring flowers work very well for me.

    Have a happy weekend.

  19. I have often done this type of upcycling, too, and then felt a bit guilty about it, so thank you for this post, Maureen! It's not a bad thing to pass on things that are this beautiful again and again!! Happy Holiday Hugs! Darnell

  22. This is a very pretty card. I always feel like it is cheating to make cards like this, but really there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, it is a lovely gesture with a card you liked so much.

BTW, your word verification is seriously drunk.
