I have a kind of fun card to share today. I seem to have a few different "8 card and envelope" packages from the Michael's 25 cent clearance bins. My card today is an example of what I like to do with those.
On rainy days up at the RV, we like to sit in the gazebo and play Aggravation, Scrabble or even play cards. But you can only do that for so long...and then DH heads into the RV and turns on the TV. I am just so not a daytime TV watcher! I like to sit and fussy cut during these times Feet up in the recliner and a low salad bowl in my lap to catch the scraps...then I can handle Midsummer Murders in the middle of the day!
Here is a card I made from those card packets. I cut up elements of three cards and treated them like paper piecing. I was able to make two of these cards and still have a few banners left over...might try to see what I can do with them too!
If is hard to see the layering created, so here is a close up of the dimension...
No recipe as there is just basically the card packet cut up and mounted on a card base I cut and folded myself.
****************This is card #44 of 50. I have been on a consumables spending freeze until I made 50 cards (Sook Wang tape and heavy weight card stock are exempt).***************
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
I am stretching this one a bit as the cards were fussy cut last year and pulled out of a baggie and this card made this year....perhaps not true snippets at all...but Miss will stand me in the corner if I have been naughty!
This is gorgeous, love the design and fab colours.xxx

ReplyDeleteHello Mo,
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely gorgeous, and a brilliant idea to bring together different packets, and love how you have put those elements together, the colours remind me so much of Vintage.

Beautiful card Mo - and no standing in the corner for you :) How lovely that you always have craft with you at the RUV - when I used to go caravanning years ago I couldn't imagine not at least having cross stitch or patchwork, or knitting to work on. These days, even with hotels I always take some paper craft goodies with me too :)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Di xx
Wow! You are up to 44 already! Clever way to use up this cards and finish up with very pretty cards for a reasonable cost. Hugs Christine. xx

Your card is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if fussy cutting would be my first choice of things to do during the rain…but it would be before watching tv during the day.
I never have the tv on until about 8:00pm,
This is lovely, what beautiful soft colours! I enjoy fussy cutting while watching tv, too, I can't just sit and watch!
ReplyDeleteApparently, if Midsomer were a real place, it would be the murder capital of Europe! But it is a very entertaining series!
I hope your week is going well!
love Mags B x
What a great use of bits and pieces Mo and well on the way to 50 now! I am curious to know if you will be waiting bag at the ready when that 50th card is made to dash straight out for a crafty fix ..lol. Seriously though I'm sure we should all take a leaf out of your book and use up that stash at the back of the cupboard. x

ReplyDeleteYou clever girl, with your bargains. What a wonderful set of cards you made with this fab bargain. I need to take you along to our Mike's! (and I enjoy Midsommer Murders too! Like Barnaby, just not the same w/o Tom). Good idea with the salad bowl to catch the snips too. That's some wonderful piecing Miss Mo. TFS & Hugs
