I got two cards from that packet of 6...I decoupaged 3 layers and like how it turned out. I used a pearl flourish over the strip of jute ribbon and decided I need to use them more often. I am always sure I will tangle them up as I lay them down and sure enough I did. I finally got it untangled and placed. lol
If you have any hints for easy placement of pearl flourishes, let me know. I have several of these flourishes and want to start using them.
I added a couple of pearlescent brown corner dies and a strip of matching paper on the left side and called it a day! For some reason, the brown strip on the left side is not showing clearly in the photo...the light is sort of bouncing off of it. It is there though and IRL the brown sides so look more balanced than they apper in this photo! I promise!

The layered image is gorgeous and the beautiful die cut corners and swirl of pearls give this card such an elegant look. This is a lovely card, Maureen, and it can be used for almost any kind of occasion too!

Beautiful card Mo - lots of lovely textures and a great vintage look.
ReplyDeleteAha, the dreaded pearl flourishes - I avoid them 'cos I always struggle too. What I have done in the past is to snip the amount of flourish I want, leaving it still on the clear acetate backing and then position it over the card still on the backing. Then, very gently peel off from one end to the other, adhering as I go - that way the whole shebang isn't free to get tangled. If that makes sense?

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about the flourish of pearls. I'd love to know about laying them down, too. I have some of these, but I always thought the flourish presentation was just a fancy way for the pearl companies to present their product! I used them individually, meaning EACH PEARL! I would take my craft knife and painstakingly cut them away from the strip and use them on my cards!
I can't remember the first time I saw them on a card (like you have done here) made by a friend in the UK and the light bulb went off!
