I have seen this Merry Christmas Memory Box die on many Christmas cards posts this year. I always manage to find it sold out when I check in my local scrapbook stores. When I was out shopping a couple of weeks ago, I found it at a store I don't visit that often. So between christening my new die and the snowflake collection, my card design was done.
I have a funny confession to make. I hope you will think it is a giggle...I can't show you the inside of my card because I glued the card upside down!!! Yep, the fold is at the bottom of the card I have propped up. I need to find a larger card to mount this one onto...My 12x12 card stock is not a heavy enough weight and the local shops do not sell this size. I think the shop I found the die at has a larger selection of card sizes, so will check there...when I get over that way.
Recipe:
Upside down card base - 5 1/2 textured square card and envelope from my stash
Dies - Memory Box Merry Christmas (first time used)
Dies - Impression Obsession Die 100F, small snowflakes; and Die 024X. large snowflakes
Bling - large and small diamonds from my stash
Stickles - Stardust
Card stock - snippets of red and white card, from my stash
I am entering this card in the following challenges;
1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
2. MFP Speedy TV Christmas Card Challenge - must be Christmas
3. Christams Card Club - must be snowflakes or white on white
Fabulous, my favorite purchase of last year and I will certainly be using it again this year.
ReplyDeleteLove all the snowflakes and the red and white.

Gorgeous card Mo, I like the snowflakes and the gems.

Yep Mo it made me giggle! I have lost count of the amount of times I had done that lol! Thankfully every time I was able to cut it down and glue it onto another card but, daftly, I did get peeved because I was wasting card.
ReplyDeleteI love that MB die - it is a real stunner and the red and white theme you have used is stunning! When ever it is bare a crafter adds stickles lol! Hope you are well sweetie and the weather's not too cold xx
Hi Mo
ReplyDeleteWow stunning card.... Love the Die Message.... Hope your hubby soon feels better
Hugs Sylvie xxx
Had to laugh at your upside down card Maureen...sorry, think we've all done that at some point! Love the result though, it looks fab. Carol x
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful card and those dies are so versatile. I'm sure you won't be the last person to make an upside down card, I think we can all confess to that one, lol.
ReplyDeleteLorraine
I love your card. Beautiful snowflakes. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteSmashing card even if it is upside down! I have done that when pasting in the page for the inside many a time. So annoying when you realise after you've stuck it. Don't know why certain colours photograph differently. I have a problem with blue/purples. hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteOh Maureen, this is just beautiful. I have the IO snowflake die and you can bet I'm going to try to use the flakes as you've done here. So very effective & eye catching. Love that MB die & not one I've managed to snag yet. Your brillants on the snowflakes really popped the card too. Had to laugh at your confession. Hate to say how many times I've done the same thing, then try to cut apart to salvage the front. This is too pretty to not use! Good job! Hugs to Miss C & Mr. P & your own self as well. TFS
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card.
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of red on the card, so so pretty.
I have made a card and then realized it was upside down, lol. I just cut the front off and add it to another card base. No bigger.
I'm glad someone else has done that! This card is stunning--opening either way!
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of red!!! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful Christmas card.

ReplyDeleteStunning card Mo, think I really need to get that MB die.
ReplyDeleteHope your week is a good one.

Hi Maureen - I love your card, the snowflake dies are really delicate and they look so good with the glitter on them. A wonderful card.
ReplyDeleteSorry that hubby is poorly, hope all goes well at the GP today.
Lots of hugs to you Sue Pxxx
PS Graham sends his regards.
I used this die on my Merry Monday card this week. Yours has lots more sparkle and leaves me wondering if I should have got out some glitter! This is so pretty and sparkly!
ReplyDeleteOh Mo - this is simply FABULOUS!! I'm with others about the Merry Christmas die being so great and you rocked it!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Di xx
Really wonderful - I do so love red and white Christmas cards. Smashing, I do say! Do I sound half way British? Oh I do hope so.
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
Oh my word!!! This is simply stunning, Mo. The MB die...a MUST have, and the snowflake dies too. Adding a touch of red is a brilliant idea! LOVE IT!

This is just stunning with all those red & white snowflakes! I wish the ones about to fall here in PA were as colorful as these are :)
ReplyDeleteYou've arranged all those various sized snowflakes so beautifully, Maureen, and I love your new sentiment die!
ReplyDeleteIf you can't find a large enough card stock, why not use the front as the panel on an easel card or step card?
Hi Mo
ReplyDeleteI love your double layered snowflakes and I just know you will get lots of use out of your merry Christmas die!
Have a good week.
Love Jules xx
Or you could just leave the card as is and send it to another crafter. I think we've all been there done that when it comes to gluing cards upside down.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very lovely card. I love the red in with the snowflakes for some contrast and pizazz. I had to have the Happy Birthday die like that one but I can see Merry Christmas being useful as well.
I love all those layered snowflakes!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty :)
Hi Maureen I love your card, colors and design.
ReplyDeleteHugs Diane
Snowflakes...Love the all!!! Hugs, joann
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen

Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Oh I love this card and I love those snowflake dies!! I had to laugh at you gluing your card on wrong as I have done this myself. So not laughing at you but with you. lol Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful snowflakes, they look great with the touch of red. I would like to own the MB greeting die as well.
ReplyDeleteI must confess to having made more than a few upside cards too.

I really do apologise, Maureen - I thought I'd left you a comment, but it seems that I didn't - I love all the red and white - thanks for a lovely card for my CCC challenge x
ReplyDeleteoh, this is so pretty! i have the sentiment die and i love it for quick and easy cards. i've had to cut the front half of a card off and mount it to another base as i've done the same thing.
ReplyDeletelinda
This is a brilliant Christmas card, you've used my favourite die and I love how you have arranged the snowflakes.

Oh, how GORGEOUS! Love how you did the snowflakes and the Merry Christmas die is on my Wish List (couldn't get one either because it was sold out when I wanted it). My camera doesn't photograph red properly esp. when there is alot of it - and from what other bloggers have told me, it is a common problem. I try and avoid too much red if I can which isn't always easy with Christmas cards!
