I am a couple hours late posting this as I have had the grand children for a sleepover and a drop by visit from my younger sister (who lives 4 hours away).
We took the kids to the matinee yesterday and then back to ours for a visit and a sleepover. What fun!
They have just left for church and thought I had better get this posted before they are back to pick up their things and have a yummy piece of chocolate cake and a nice cuppa. Little Mr. P was in tears as they left for church. He wanted to stay and have the cake now! lol
Onto hearts and red...the great theme that Mary H. at Carolina Cards, chose for this fortnight. I decided to colour up the same Bugaboo stamp that I used for my guest design post at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra. You can get it here at Bugaboo Stamps
Hazel was nice to send me some Bugaboo images and I coloured this one up again in red. Although I used the same design papers, I think there is enough red in the lats, flowers and velvet rickrack to qualify. Did you spy my heart? It is the center of the larger poinsettia.
I used the Sakura Jelly Roll pen again to hilight the stars and the halo. The cloud and Wings have had wee bit of stickles added.
And here is the inside...all ready for Christmas. I made up a couple of these matted sentiments, as I plan to make a few more of this card.
I had fun making this one as these bright patterned papers have grown on me and seem to cast a cheery feeling. The velvet rickrack was a snippet that I found when I was cleaning my room in January. I really like it as the fabric is flocked like velvet and does not fray easily...in other words it does not need to be wrapped around the card to hide the edges. Yay!
It is amazing what little bits of things get "mislaid" after working on a project. I found some lovely mislaid treasures and I even found a cling stamp that has been missing forever...it was stick onto the back of another cling. Good thing I had that sort out as I was sure glad to find these things!

Looks as good in red as it did in blue. Fabulous card.
ReplyDeleteWe had Grandson's to sleep over last night too, lucky as they are good boys. Get a tad tired of Monopoly though as 5 year old is hooked on it and no longer wants to play the childs version but wants the adult one as he gets more money for passing Go!!!
Enjoy your week.

ReplyDeleteNow I am singing "You are my special angel sent from up above, the Lord smiled down on my and sent an angel to love." Sue used the adjective corker - a corker of a card she said. Now I don't know what corker means but I like the sound of it!

ReplyDeleteAh Miss Maureen, what a bright & cheery take on the CCC theme. Clever you to sneak in the little heart center. Love this dp that you used for the background on the delightful Bugaboo image, colored so pretty. And also love that velvet rickrack. Good for you at finding it in the 'stash cleanout'. So happy you got to enjoy the grands for a bit, and thanks for your great take on the theme. I'm finally getting round to enjoy all the CCC cards, and each one seems more gorgeous than the one before! Hugs

I found a missing snowflake this week stuck to the bottom of a box!! It was the tiniest thing but I was super pleased to have found it!
I hope all is good with you.
Have a good day.
Love Jules xx
Another great card using that image Mo!
ReplyDeleteI found a couple of half completed links in Mr Linky for you - have now deleted those so you should be able to link in fine. Remember to link the whole URL for your actual blog post :) Mr Linky gets uptight over duplicates and also partial links. Then he won't accept another try unless I'm told and go in and clear things out. Don't fret - just let me know!
Thank you so much for grabbing the snippets button.
Hugs, Di xx

Pretty card there Mo. I guess you have been taking lessons from Jules with her hidden hearts? I do love velvet ribbon and tend to hoard it rather than use it!

This is so cute! Even the inside is super festive. :) I know what you mean about the little bits you find after creating a project. They're usually quite fun to piece together into another project.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for leaving love at my blog. It may have been a while, but I wanted to say thank you. :)
This image is so cute Mo using the angel as the 'A', and would brighten anyone's day. I love the colours you have used and the sparkly Poinsettia with the heart brad. It sounds like you had fun with your GK's. x
