A Generic Stash card

I have been having a wee tidying up in my craft room. I had to make room for all the new Stamps and bits and bobs I bought in England!    lol

As I tidied, I pulled out elements to make up into Card Kits for the 8 hour card crop I am attending on Saturday. This is always a fun job as I usually find things I had forgotten about...it is like going shopping in my own room!

I set out to make up kits for some very overdue thank you cards for my English relatives and also kits for get well cards. In the midst of all this, I got waylaid when I spied this Sentiment die...funny how that happens!!! To keep myself on task and not so easily distracted....I made a little deal with myself that once I finished creating the kits, I could then make this sentiment up into a card.

I have kept the card to this sentiment only, just for now. I think it could be used for an Autumn Anniversary card or even a Birthday card. I will add the appropriate verse to the inside once I know which occasion I will be using it for.


As always, enlarging the photo shows up things that perhaps could have been done differently. I am going to make a couple more of these cards and next time I will mount the die cut flower and butterfly stickers to a scrap of card stock, fussy cut them and then attach them to the card. This would prevent that slight bent look when a sticker is attached to two different surface levels.

When I found the Doily die cuts, I knew I wanted to use them. I like the contrast between the feminine look of the doilies and the more masculine look of the sentiment. I do think I will use this card for an Autumn Anniversary as I think it has elements that suit masculine and feminine

    I sometimes forget about things I've bought too. You're right. It's like shopping all over again except that this time it's free.

    I like the inside of the card even better than the front. It would make a great CAS card! I'm starting to sort through some boxes and found some bundles of lace that have to be at least twenty yrs old which I had completely forgotten about from when I used to make dolls. Needless to say I will be using up on cards now. hugs Mrs A.
    p.s. You would not be missing England today. Heavy rain, thunder and lightning and unbelievably hail stones! An afternoon in the craft pod beckons.

    Ah, Maureen, when I read your comment about the photo showing up things missed - I had to smile. Are we relatives? Truthfully, when I enlarged, I saw nothing amiss! Loved the way you used these doilies. I never quite know how to display them, but they are so pretty. A very interesting contrast to your sentiment, as you said, I liked it! Enjoyed how you carried your theme over to decorate the interior..so pretty. TFS & Hugs.

    Super card Mo, I love the doilies and those lovely butterflies especially.

    Know whaqt you mean about attaching things across surfaces which are on two different levels - not that it shows on your card at all.

    One neat trick is if (let's say) I'm adding a sentiment stamped onto card which will be partly on top of a raised piece and also across to a lower level is to use flat adhesive tape on the bit that will stick to the raised underneath and then a thin piece of raised tape/sticky thing underneath the bit that will stick to the lower level on the card.

    That way it lies flat - and if you followed this then go to the top of the queue for the swings :) Well done on being first into the Playground this week :))

    Gorgeous card, Maureen. The combination of colours is lovely, as you say autumnal. I particularly like your treatment of the inside ... I always think that decoration inside make a card extra special. Oh, and I'm always doing deals with myself when cleaning ...     I love your statement about 'going shopping in your own room'! So true, I often find fun supplies and trinkets in my stash and I get totally delighted about having such a treasure all over again.
