Back with the recipe for the card I had on my desk for WOYWW a few minutes ago.
As I mentioned on that post, this card is for a friend that loves purple. I have had the card base for years...the purple ones were fairly safe in the box for years! But The Times, They are A-Changin'...
Here is a close up of the flower...
Recipe
Card base and envelope - from my stash, mauve textured card on the front, and back, white on the inside
DP - snippet from when I made Dora layouts for Little Miss C...sorry info strip long since discarded
- had a little giggle when she told me the other day that she doesn't ever remember loving Dora:)
Cardstock - from my stash, a snippet of white card, chalked with purple and edged with stickles
Teensy flowers - from my stash...a decade old I think...maybe really old Prima...they came in tall skinny jars that were a bi*** to get them out of...
Large flower - from my stash, originally from Michael's, they were blossoms on silk hydrangea bushes. They are sort of papery feeling rather than silky feeling, so they don't fray like the silky ones!
Stickles - Crystal
Sentiment - computer generated
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
1. Pixies Crafty Workshop - must use snippets
2. Sister Act Challenge - always anything goes
3. Totally Gorjuss - Anything goes with Sparkle
4. The Squirrel and the Fox - Song or Movie, mine is Song - Purple Haze
5. 2 Sisters challenge - #138 Anything goes
6. Clear it out challenge - Use your stash, flowers (mine are years old)
7. Use it Tuesday - must use hoarded supplies, my flowers were hoarded too long! I used glossy accents to stick down the big flower...I have had it for a couple of years and had never opened the bottle!
8. The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge - Anything goes
You can never have too much purple Maureen and this one is very pretty especially the glittered flower.

I know those Prima flowers well! And you are so right about getting them out of the jars!! I think that's the reason I still have so many left!! Gorgeous card - I love purple!! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Mos, I like the colours and the beautiful flower.

Always enjoy when you comment about the grands! This is a lovely card, great recycle of your purple cards too! You dressed this one up just fine, and your stickled flower sent it over the top. Your friend will so love it. TFS (PS, I have some of those flowers, in white, got them with the idea of airbrushing - yes, I know what you mean about the removal woes!)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty flower and card :)

ReplyDeleteMaureen, I DID enjoy the story of Mr. P & his bashfulness. Just wait until he's a teenager! That will be a great tale to remind him of. I'm so happy he's doing well. I'll be looking for cards from the grands...Lucky you to be able to share your love of this craft with 2 talented youngsters. Hugs

A perfect result, and am still sighing over that gorgeous flower. It's a stunner Maureen!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I remember well the long containers that Prima flowers came in - I took all of mine out and sorted them into a deep Really Useful box with partitioned trays - four layers but they work well - until the day I drop the open box of course! Sigh, it's bound to happen!!
Hugs, Di xx

As a fan of purple I think this card is perfect. Loved that she couldn't remember loving Dora, my bil loved button moon as a little one and the adorable way he used to say it makes me smile even now. I saw an old video recently and mentioned it to him, and all I got as a blank face as he had no idea what the programme was lol. Hugs,Amanda x
ReplyDeleteLove all of the purples you've used and the oodles of flowers look awesome.
ReplyDeleteShelby
